We are getting ready to dispatch our August #sewandquiltbom York Plains Kits today! A little later than scheduled but rest assured they will be worth the wait! Putting away and reorganising post #festivalofquilts2019 was a much bigger task than we anticipated! 😅
If you're new to felt appliqué, the whip stitch is one of the simplest and most useful stitches you can use on your projects. Choose threads that blend in with your felt color, or contrasting colors for a more primitive folk art look! 🦌 Download this hand appliqué reindeer ornament pattern from my shop for some fun with felt!
I've found that using printable dissolvable stabilizer is the easiest way to transfer a pattern to felt, especially for hand appliqué. Simply stick it to your felt and cut out your shapes! I've used both Pellon and Sulky brand dissolvable stabilizer for embroidery and have had success with both. Do you have a method you prefer? Tell me below!
Do you use an embroidery hoop when you stitch with felt? Since felt is a stiffer fabric I tend to just hold it between my fingers as I stitch, especially when doing hand appliqué work. What's your stitching preference?
Hello, September! Time to hang my favorite fall decor, the Autumn Mandala Banner! Oh who am I kidding, I never take it down. Wanna make one? It’s great for using up small amounts of felt and floss. You can find the pattern in my shop or swipe up in my Stories. 🍃🍁🍄 #woolfelt#schoolofwool#woolapplique#embroideryinstaguild
