ONE OF THE REASONS I STARTED RUNNING WAS TO LOSE WEIGHT😅 . It wasn’t the only reason. But I had put on some weight-& I had done a couple crash diets to try & lose it - & I just felt totally out of control. And when I saw my cuzin @gotgoldfishes for Thanksgiving 2011 & she looked amazing - & I had always wanted a redemption marathon after that sufferfest marathon in high school- the stars aligned for me to sign up for 2 marathons that day.😅🙈 . @runtothefinish mentioned in her stories that something like 80% of people start running to lose weight but currently that reason seems to be getting bashed- like that cannot be a reason for someone to want to run -& there was a lot of backlash that the protagonist in ‘Brittany Runs a Marathon’ started running to lose weight. . So while I started running to lose weight- what I *lost* was actually my need for a perfect body. Before running, influenced by our culture’s quest for perfection, I thought about lipo for stubborn areas - or laser for all my stretch marks. And I just generally REALLY disliked my body. But running changed everything— I just was so proud of my body- we suffered through long days together😅- & I gained so much compassion for it. I ate to fuel it-& no longer restricted food because I was angry at it & angry at myself for lack of self-control. . Now, weight isn’t apart of the equation for me! I haven’t weighed myself in almost 2 years. Now I don’t run to lose weight, I run for the joy of it -& because I love the performance aspect of it & because it makes me feel the most ME.🥰 I have no problem taking down time (when my body needs it😌) - without obsessing over the weight gain that might naturally happen. And I don’t restrict food during that time. Because my body needs fuel to live.❤️ . So however you came into this sport, I hope your journey brings you to a place of love for your body- no matter what your reason is for running. That you aren’t punishing it on a
Well, I’m back in my cute boot.👢💁🏼♀️ . MRI Diagnosis: Talus bone stress fracture . I had an MRI at 6 am the morning of CIM because I felt paranoid that I wasn’t fully healed from my injury, previously diagnosed as tendinitis with possibility of a stress fracture. I took 3 months off, and had slowly been starting to run again over the past month. Every run felt great and I no longer had the pain on the side of my ankle that I originally felt. But... I had all sorts of very minor aches pop up hours after finishing my runs- they ranged from ankle, to shins, to knees... literally everything felt off but I just assumed it was part of my return to running. My doctor suggested the MRI just to ease my worry, and I honestly thought nothing would show up on the MRI. I was shocked to say the least when Monday morning rolled around and I found out I had a stress fracture. So, a few more weeks back in the boot, and 8 weeks off running completely. Here we go again, injury round 2.✌🏼 . First of all, I’m so amazed by how much easier it is to run well when it’s air conditioned outside 🤩 had the most AMAZING 10 miler today that I was actually dreading. Got out of bed and then the house so late but knew I could afford the start with this cool weather. SO happy I stuck it out bc I felt so comfy for a sub 8 pace of which I did not pause my Garmin once! Only took one baby water stop and picked up the pace at the end after I felt really good 💪🏼 Saturday relax is 100% earned !

El recorrido de 21K continúa por la ruta, íntegramente por el asfalto, hasta cruzar el arroyo López y se retorna desde el desvío de ripio hacía Colonia Suiza, sobre la misma ruta. El recorrido presenta desniveles moderados. La prueba será asistida por parte de la Organización, contando con 3 puestos intermedios para rehidratación en el caso de los 21K y 2 en el caso de los 10K. No se permitirá la asistencia externa a los corredores. 6 early morning miles with Cyndy and Liza 💕 My longest run since July! It was so hard 🥵 and made me realize how far behind my fitness is from my friends right now but I managed to keep up and I feel so accomplished! 💪🏼The hubs and I are sharing a car until Monday and we both have jam packed days so wish us luck to not be late to anything today 😂.
