🚀 It might be 44 years old, but Space Mountain is still a fan favorite at almost every Magic Kingdom or Disneyland park around the world (only missing from Shanghai, where Tron Coaster takes its place). I clearly remember my first time stepping aboard this rocket. Throughout my childhood, I was terrified of Space Mountain and could never imagine riding as I would pass by on the TTA Peoplemover and hear the echoing screams in the dark. The first time I finally rode this coaster, I remember the surprise and delight of this strobe tunnel, recorded in this video by @themeparkhd (how often does a roller coaster drop before it goes up the lift?), which has been one of my favorite classic Disney effects since that time. What was your first reaction to riding Space Mountain? 🌙 (If you want some more fun facts about this ride, check out episode 4 of Imagineer Podcast).
🏔 While Walt Disney World has developed some exciting new attractions in the last few years, one that continues to deliver on thrills us Expedition Everest over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. This roller coaster is nearly 15 years old and still packs a powerful punch that combines thrilling coaster elements with incredible attention to detail and authentic storytelling that only Disney could create. What’s your favorite thrill ride at any Disney Park around the world? 🚂 Video filmed by @themeparkhd
