Ever wonder where someone's quilts end up? Where does that lovely pieced work of art go? I am introducing a new series called #quiltsinthehome . I will show where some of my quilts end up in our home. Feel free to use the hashtag and share your quiltsinthehome too😊 I shared our living room, guest room, and now my two younger boys' room and their Halloween quilts. Since they share a room I wanted their quilts to have a similar color way. I also wanted them to be close to bed size but smaller so they can still lug them around. They did bring them in the car on our road trip now and fit just fine. We drove the Blue Ridge parkway and through West Virgina. The Fall colors are fantastic and now we spend some time exploring in Raleigh. I have some quilt shops on my list too😉 **UPDATE** Pattern is #jellyrollrace (by window) and #jellyrollrace2 by @missouristarquiltco. Fabric (by window) is dotdotboo by @meandmysisterdesigns and #bewitchingfab by @debstrain
The hardest people to buy presents for are the type of people that have EVERYTHING. My mother-in-law is one of those people. Each year gets harder to find the perfect gift for her. I don’t know how I came across this Instagram post, but thanks to @cloud9marketplace and their beautiful Christmas tree skirt pattern, I’ve found the perfect gift for her 🎄🎁✨ This is heading off to Hong Kong this afternoon ✈️ and I’ve got another set of trees all cut up, ready to be turned into a skirt for my new apartment. I’ll be showcasing #daytripquilt testers all weekend and I wanted to start off with the lovely Wendy over at @the.weekendquilter! 🎉 I was super honored that Wendy had the time to fit testing my pattern into her busy schedule (she moved during the testing schedule!) Wendy has an absolutely beautiful instagram feed so you must go check her out and see all the amazing things she’s been up to! 💕 The Day Trip pattern is on sale through this weekend! 🙌🏻 * Photo credit = @broadclothstudio. Fabrics range from Shibori dyed (workshop with @onyxmatter) and various scraps that she’s had stashed away! . #sewyourstash#modernlymorganpatterns#scrapquilt
Is there anything better than binding a favorite quilt on a cold and grey day? I think not.😁 It was so relaxing and fulfilling with a little music going and a profound sense of satisfaction closing out this major project. I love the backing I chose for my #vintagechristmasquilt . I had been doing minky alot for backings lately. However, I didn't want a bright red or white and couldn't find any other minky that was wide enough. I didn't want a minky seam which I felt would be more noticeable than fabric. I decided flannel was the next best option. This flannel was perfect since it had similar reds and greens that I used in my quilt. It was also really playful with the colored snowflakes. I usually don't put too much thought into my backings but with this quilt I was careful every step of the way. It is #christmasdeliveryfabric by @cartabella for @rileyblakedesigns

I still love my #candylanequilt pattern (link in bio) and I have to say, it fits my 3yr old well. This quilt will forever remind me of my recent forray into pattern writing and how excited he was upon receiving a quilt I designed, pieced and quilted. He watched and followed my process the whole way through. It once again showed how much I love Quilting for my 4 children. It never gets old.
Let me introduce myself...Andrea wife and mother of four. Homeschool mom, quilter and now pattern designer! I just released my first pattern (link in bio) #modernornamentsquilt . Yes, Christmas quilts are my favorite to make! In the last 12 months I made 11 Christmas quilts alone so it was only fitting my first pattern was Christmas themed. Advent and Christmas are my favorite seasons of the year and while I usually wait to decorate until the day after Thanksgiving-I brought some trees up for a photoshoot😂. I never understood Christmas fabric in April or May until I became a quilter. It takes time to make all those Christmas gifts!! When do you start making Christmas crafts/gifts/quilts? If you have not started yet, fear not this pattern is a quick and easy sew! 😁
