Every once and awhile we get to frame things for ourselves! This is a favorite artist of mine and I’ve had this piece waiting in a drawer for so long. I can’t wait to get it hung up. Doesn’t it remind you of Zetta?! 🦁😻
Happy Saturday Everyone, we finally have some sunshine in Ottawa! ☀️I realised that I never properly introduced myself on Instagram, so here we go! My name is Michael and I run Gesso and Bole Framing. I am originally from a small British Island called Jersey but made the great leap across the pond to Canada in April 2018. I have worked in picture framing for over 10 years and just before moving here, worked in London, UK for a highly regarded picture framer where I worked on projects for internationally recognised artists and galleries. There I gained many valuable skills and confidence so it was a no-brainer for me to open my own framing studio, and here we are! Fun facts: "gesso" is pronounced like "Jess-oh" but it is so amusing to me when people pronounce it differently, I function on upwards of 5 cups of tea a day, and have a grumpy "studio" cat named Allie!🐱
Leave the measuring to us!🙂 Many first timers aren’t sure about the process of custom framing. It’s easy. Just bring in your item - could be a photograph, painting, diploma, jersey, or artifact... anything really you want to preserve or display. We’ll then help you choose a design...that’s the fun part! Leave it with us to measure cut and build. Turn around time is typically around two weeks... but don’t worry if you need it in a hurry - just let us know! We can accommodate most deadlines and even offer same day framing. See you soon!
