Enjoyed this? Follow @universecond The heart of The Whirlpool Galaxy: A classic spiral galaxy 30 million light years away and 60 thousand light years across. If you wanted to go here and somehow you were able to travel at the speed of light, it would take you 30 million years to get there. image: © NASA Credits: @thehubblescope . . . #andromeda #galaxi #galaxia #galaxy #galaxies #galactic #interstellar #blackhole #blackholes #astro_photography_ #astrography #astrophoto #astro_photography #astronomer #astronomy #astronomi #astrophotographer #nightskyphotography #nasabeyond #telescope #longexposure #cosmos #stars #universe #astroworld #skywatcher

In around/about 4 billion years the Milky Way galaxy and Andromeda galaxy will collide in spectacular and dramatic event. The Andromeda galaxy is one of our closest galactic spiral neighbor. The Milky Way Galaxy was recently measured to be 50% larger than previously thought according to new data that shows the accretion disk of our galaxy is not "flat", it's corrugated (like the topology of cardboard). Findings from a study by conducted by an international team led by Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Professor Heidi Jo Newberg show that features previously identified as galactic rings are, in fact, part of the galactic disk, extending the known width of the Milky Way from 100,000 light years across to 150,000 light years across. #milkyway #galaxy #astrophysics #unifiedphysics #resonance #cymatics #galactic #universe #unifiedfield #spacetime #lightyears
The Milkyway galaxy rises over Mount Hood on a quiet, peaceful night. Bonus points if you can spot the international space station gliding through the sky! Be Curious 🔭 Follow: @asgardian.club Tag a space lover 👤 #milkywaygalaxy Credit: Andrew Studer

Very bright Meteor (entering at 25km/sec) captured during night as the #perseidmeteorshower peaked. • Have you seen any meteor showers? ☄️ The annual Perseid meteor shower occurs when the Earth passes through a stream of dust from the Comet Swift-Tuttle. Its nucleus is about 16 miles (26 kilometers) wide. It last passed nearby Earth during its orbit around the sun in 1992, and the next time will be in 2126. But it won't be forgotten in the meantime, because Earth passes through the dust and debris it leaves behind every year, creating the annual Perseid meteor shower. Jupiter in ultraviolet 👀 . Do you celebrate thanksgiving where you’re from? . . To better interpret Jupiter's cloud motions and to help NASA's robotic Juno spacecraft understand the planetary context of the small fields that it sees, the Hubble Space Telescope is being directed to regularly image the entire Jovian giant. . . . 📸 NASA Hubble

© Alexandre Croisier Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/alexandrecroisier/ Ma page: https://www.facebook.com/AlexandreCroisierPhotographies #bretagne_focus_on #breizh #jaimelabretagne #myfinistere #paysage #landscape_captures #landscapes #landscape_love #longexposure_shots #night #nightscape #starrynight #nightscapephotography #milkywaygalaxy #milkyway #milkywaychasers #voielactée #astronomie #nightscapephotography #nightscaper #astronomy #constellation #orion #sigmaart #galactic #astrophotography #longexposure #chapelle #milkywaypics #sky

The UESA Phoenix Space Station by Glenn Clovis @glennclovis. Via @science_gear. 👨🏼‍🚀 This space station is a permanent space-bound way-point. Landing on Mars and then attempting to leave the surface again for the trip back to 🌎 consumed enormous amounts of fuel and water. This space station would provide a stopping point for Earth transports, subsequent travel would then be provided by the stations shuttles and capsules. 🚀 . This station is capable of sustaining a crew of up to 120, providing for all their needs for prolonged periods. Housed within it various sections, the station stored and processed a variety of necessities 🌬atmospheric gases⠀ 💧water storage and reclamation⠀ 🔁CO2 scrubbers⠀ 🌊 hydroponics⠀ 🛢 fuel for transports⠀ 🍇 food and⠀ 🛠 equipment stores. . There are 64 modules to provide for the crew quarters and secondary laboratories. 🔬 . It also features a significant amount of protection from radiation and micro-meteorites.☢ . A single, injectable micro fission reactor provided up to 110 MW of power to the station. ☣ . A secondary power source was provided by solar arrays around the top of the station.🌞 . In the event the reactor had to be ejected due to a meltdown, the arrays could provide enough operational power for the station until the replacement fission reactor could be delivered from Earth and installed🌈 . According to the artist, here is how long it took to create this art Shuttles - 1 hr in Cinema4D, Spacestation - 20 Hours in Cinema 4D, 3 hours to render, Planet - 1 hour in Vue, the rest is Photoshop. ⠀ Credits glennclovis.com.
