Sheet Pan Dinner ๐Ÿด Made my grandma and myself this easy chicken dinner tonight- packed with veggies + lots of flavor ๐Ÿ˜ Keeping it simple over here after a busy day. Easy dinners always hit the spot + we have leftovers which you know I love ๐Ÿ˜Ž - - My grandma had never made a sheet pan meal so I was kind of showing her the ropes. Thought I’d break it down here too my method behind how I make them. I pick a veggie, potato, and protein. Then I google about how long it takes to make them all at 400F. Based on that, I add them on to the pan at different times. For this actually, everything  took about 30-35 minutes so I added it all at once. For seasoning, I kept it simple and salt free because she watches her salt intake. Everything was ready in 35 mins + only one pan to clean up which was what I wanted after an afternoon of recipe testing haha. My grandpa is doing better every day but still recovering in the hospital, thanks to everyone for the warm thoughts and prayers โค๏ธ - - #dinner details ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿป preheat oven to 400F  What you need:  2 chicken breasts  2 sweet potatoes  1 lb brussel sprouts  2 tbsp oil ( I used avocado but olive would work fine)  1 tbsp garlic powder  1 tsp onion powder  1 tsp oregano  Optional sprinkle salt and pepper.  Chop the sweet potatoes and cut the sweet potatoes in half. Coat with 2 tbsp oil then add to a sheet pan. Add your chicken breasts on top. Then in a small bowl, mix your spices. Brush over the top of the veggies and chicken. Bake for 30-35 mins depending on how you like your chicken. Easy peasy ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป #onepanmeal #easyrecipes #choosingbalance

this pie was more photogenic than I am๐Ÿ˜ฉ๐Ÿ˜ I’m so glad I can eat desserts everyday without massive amounts of guilt. However, I still feel like I’m holding back. I often want to take two or three desserts at a time, but usually only take one (that is for every meal though haha, so I’m eating like 4+ desserts every day then more for Nightsnacks) AND I still think I’m restricting a bit. I’m going to try to challenge this. Happy Wednesday friends! I was planning to get up early this morning to go to the gym but the thought of going outside in below zero temps did not sound appealing ๐Ÿ˜ฌโ„๏ธ so I opted to stay warm and cozy in bed for a little longer and go later, only to find out that my car won’t start ๐Ÿ™ƒ needless to say the gym won’t be happening today and that’s totally okay! No Bake Sugar Cookie Bars ๐Ÿ’ซ Made with only 5 ingredients + a 2 ingredient icing! Paleo, Gf, and plant based option. Store in the fridge or in the freezer ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป Such an easy holiday treat! I love making 2 types of desserts: no bake or minimal ingredients and this one hits both of those ๐Ÿ˜Œ Oh and they’re dangerously addicting ๐Ÿ˜‰ - - It’s been so fun creating holiday recipes over here, I’m going to be in a culture shock in a few weeks ๐Ÿ˜… I actually drove down to my grandparents today to stay with my grandma for a few days while my grandpa is recovering from heart surgery. Lots of fun, new yummy treats, too much coffee, and hopefully a speedy recovery for him are in the cards this week โค๏ธ - - #recipe details ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿป Mix together:  1 cup nut butter (I used @justins cashew butter)  1/2 cup coconut flour  1/2 cup maple syrup  2 tbsp vanilla collagen or protein (optional, sub 1 tsp vanilla extract if vegan or use a vegan protein, I used @furtherfood vanilla collagen)  1 tsp cinnamon Mix it all together then line a brownie pan with parchment paper. It doesn’t fill the entire pan but it’s easy to shape into a square. Smooth it out and put in the freezer for 2 hours at least. Then remove and top with the icing:  1/2 cup coconut butter + 1/2 cup maple syrup. Melt for 30 seconds in the microwave and mix it together. I’ll make this about 10-15 minutes before I need it. Put back in the freezer for 30 mins- an hour to let it harden. Enjoy! #paleo #plantbased #choosingbalance

butternut squash can be used in so many ways, like these egg nests!! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿณ you get a slightly sweet taste from the butternut squash and a savory taste from eggs and avocado toast. such a good combo you gotta try!! sauté @cecesveggieco butternut squash spirals in @primalkitchenfoods avocado oil for 2 minutes. spread into two nests with a hole in the middle to crack @vitalfarms eggs in each. allow to cook until egg whites settle, about 4-5 mins. slightly cover with lid to cook for another 4-5 minutes. top with crushed red pep flakes and everything but the bagel sesame seasoning! i have a slice of avocado toast under there too ๐Ÿ˜›๐Ÿฅ‘ i love breakfast so much๐Ÿ˜ป #winniesbalance #eggnests #butternutsquash

lunchin’ in my sweatpants ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿป‍โ™€๏ธ i made this baked rosemary garlic tomato salmon with green beans and @eatbanza chickpea rice. i’m working on putting together my favorite ways to bake my salmon as a blog post - this is on my list ๐Ÿ‘… to make: preheat oven to 425F and brush salmon with olive oil & sprinkle of salt and pepper. add 1/2 tsp rosemary, 1/2 tsp minced garlic & 1 tsp drained capers. top with halved grape tomatoes. bake for 15 mins! while baking, i cooked the rice and green beans โ˜บ๏ธ my plates are always looking like a trio combo like this. this is fast food! food that nourishes & packed with flavors i enjoy. today i’m focusing on doing some content drafting & then studying!! #winniesbalance

Going out to dinner is something I absolutely loveeee to do I’m not going to sit there and track those calories, noooo sir. WHAT SUPPLEMENTS SHOULD YOU TAKE? ๐Ÿ’Š โ € Let me start off by saying that supplements are not magical, and won’t work unless you already have your nutrition & training dialed in. Once you have these two nailed, then you can start to implement supplements. โ € But with so many different options on the market it can be hard to know what to take, what works, and what is a waste of money ๐Ÿคฏ โ € A few supplements that I personally take and are tested + proven to be highly beneficial include: โ € โšก๏ธ Creatine: Has been proven to be one of the most effective and safe supplements. It helps muscle cells produce more energy, improves performance and recovery & can speed up muscle growth. โ € โšก๏ธ Protein powder: There is nothing special about protein powder. However, protein itself is extremely important for your body to build muscle, repair itself, control your appetite and so much more. While you should aim to get your protein through whole food sources most the time, protein powders are fantastic if you have trouble eating enough protein or if you’re in a pinch and don’t have time to eat/make a full meal. My favorite brands are @optimumnutrition & @ascent_protein. โ € โšก๏ธ Caffeine: You can get fancy with the pre-workouts or you can keep it as simple as drinking some coffee or taking caffeine pills. This can help prevent muscle breakdown and keep you full longer. They are live bacteria that aid in digestion and gut health. I’m disappointed. A lot of you will have seen the articles in the press today regarding labelling certain foods with the number of minutes exercise you need to do to burn off those calories. This isn’t ok. Food is not a punishment. Exercise is not a punishment. There is already a rise in the number of people suffering from eating disorders, this is not going to help that in any way. It’s also a huge trigger for those already battling these illnesses and those working towards restoration. There are so many other things wrong with this but this is the one I feel most strongly about. . . . . . Food is fuel. It is not the enemy. Education in a healthy, balanced, lifestyle is what’s needed. Air Fried Maple Sweet Potatoes ๐Ÿ  Can’t think of a better side dish- my favorite way to cook food paired with one of my all time faves ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป Just sweet enough and oh so crispy. Plus making them in the air fryer is so much faster than baking them. Mix it together with a spatula, air fry at 400F for 10 mins, flip them, air fry 10 more minutes.
