Many people (maybe you, maybe a family member, a friend, a student...) go through TOUGH things during the holidays and they can be really really REALLY hard. I have become more aware of this as I have grown older. I think that’s why I love dressing up in over the top outfits for the holidays because it always seems to turn frowns upside down. My students love it parents get a kick out of it, and if I happen to go anywhere after school, it always seems to garner a smile. 🌱 Mango avocado spring rolls 📷 by @foodpassionical 🌿🌿 I have no word to say about this, Dig into the kitchen and make it immediately!!! . Recipe: 1⃣Vietnam rice paper 2⃣Bean sprouts, cook in the boiling water for 1 minutes. Drain & set aside. 3⃣1 mango, sliced 4⃣1 avocado, sliced 5⃣1/4 cup fresh mint 6⃣1 carrot, thinly sliced 7⃣1/2 cup shredded purple cabbage 8⃣ Baked tempeh . ✔Take a rice paper wrappers and dip into a warm water ✔Place the wrappers on a plate and stagged the mango, avocado, mint then topped with the fresh veggies and tempeh. ✔Fold the bottom half of the wrappers over the filling and hold the fold in place. Lastly tuck in the sides and roll tightly. ✔Repeat with remaining filling and serve with dipping sauce. Dipping sauce recipe: 4 Tbsp of peanut butter 1 tbsp of Tamari 1 tbsp hot sauce 1 tsp brown sugar 1 tsp of chilli flakes(optional) Few tbsp of hot water to thin the mixture Mix well all the ingredients with adding hot water and mix till it become well combined. There is always a positive intention behind how you are feeling even if it feels bad at the time.  Your emotional state is set up to love you. So when you experience danger or what you might be percieve to be a dangerous situation then your emotions will respond.  Danger might be your parent saying something you feel is critical. Perhaps someone is demonstrating controlling behaviour. Maybe you feel like you're being dismissed by someone you love.  All these scenarios might trigger anxiety or stress. But ultimately your body is producing this because its trying to protect you. Protection is often an act of love.  Should I offer more content describing how anxiety works in the body?

This idea of being perfect is, in my opinion simply an illusion of the lack of self love.  There is no such thing as perfection unless you are abundantly filled with self love that you already feel that you are perfect by your own definition!  Being who you are, loving who you are, living your own truth, loving your personal growth, being presence in your own life is pretty much a perfect definition of a life well lived.  The real glow up isn't a journey, it's an acceptance of who you are NOW. Why that is so important is because when we love ourselves we continually want to thrive and push upwards and therefore we grow into being improved versions of OURSELVES on a daily basis. Z seems on the cusp of coming down with something so I thought I’d share this post.When your little one is fighting a cold, food is usually the last thing on their mind. I always used to stress out about food when my little guy had a cold but this is what I find works for us now; I incorporate all of the above and for the first couple of days I stick to offering small, frequent snacks until his appetite builds back up. Click the link in my bio to read my blog post on this topic ❤️ . . ➡️ Hydrating fruit - hydration is the most important thing to ensure when your little one is sick. . . ➡️ Honey - contains high antibacterial properties & antimicrobial compounds to suppress coughs and boosts the immune system. My son isn’t so keen on honey but now he’s 2, I explain its medicine for when he is poorly ⭐️(no honey for under 1’s)⭐️. . . ➡️ Turmeric - one of the best known spices for fighting colds. . . ➡️ Ginger - superb for inflammation. . . ➡️ Garlic - immune boosting and has been used to help fight colds for centuries. . . ➡️ Vitamin C - much needed with colds. I actually always used to reach for oranges but broccoli, bell peppers strawberries are also a superb source of Vit C. . . ➡️ Healthy Fat - high calorie, good fats are a great option as most kids lose their appetite. . . ➡️ Protein - nuts and seeds work well for us and chickpea pasta id always my go to. I break the nuts into smaller pieces for my son but for younger ones you can grind them and add the nut powder to other food. Hemp hearts are also a great source of protein. ⭐️ no whole nuts or seeds for under 5’s⭐️. . . Sharks play a unique and irreplaceable role in keeping our Oceans healthy. Despite this fact, 100+ MILLION sharks are slaughtered every single year. - Think about that for a moment. We are literally witnessing the imminent extinction of all shark species. Now I ask this, what happens to the Oceans when every last shark is gone? - It’s OUR responsibility as consumers to see this come to an end. If you see shark meat or byproducts being sold, speak up! Ask the manager to consider discontinuing the item. Write to companies that are using squalane/squalene in their lotions, sunscreens, cosmetics, etc. Some of them have switched to the plant sourced version, but others have not. Urge them to make the switch! Send emails, snail mail, start a petition, write to your government officials, stand up, and speak out against the decimation of our Oceans. Start a project or a wave of change on your own. Help in every way that works for you and your life. Join a protest. Create the change that we desperately need. Who else is hitting up brunch this weekend?
If millennials could be described in one word, it would be brunch.  When the weekend comes, young professionals religiously flock to trendy spots to get impressively photogenic eggs benedicts and mimosas. But why?  It’s a poor appropriation of budget when I could make four times the eggs for a fifth of the cost. Brunch, however, is more than just a meal.  It’s a way for millennials to get assurance that it will all be okay. . Our 20s is a decade of discovery and discourse as we search for our life path. We find ourselves in a vast professional world with our developing brains overly stimulated by the limitless amount of options.  We struggle to disentangle what we want from what we think we are supposed to want. We find ourselves awake at 3am, thinking about the future and reflecting on the past, wondering where we would be if we had made one different decision. It normally comes with some form of self shaming for a stupid decision here, or a missed opportunity there.  What if I had gone to business school? Or if I had studied nursing? It’s easy to feel alone and lost as your friends splatter their incredible lives on Instagram. . This is where brunch comes into the picture. . It’s not about the eggs and pancakes, it’s about the ritual of meeting with friends to offload the drama of the week, talk about career aspirations, celebrate successes and condole failures. Ultimately, it’s about getting reassurance that everyone is in the same terminally rocky boat on the cusp of sinking. Brunch is a reminder that you are not alone, and everyone is just as lost as confused as you are despite their inspirational social media page. . So we millennials join over a late afternoon breakfast to listen, be heard, and get a sense of relief.  It could always be worse, I could be like her….

Why is your handle nutrient matters? .  There’s not much “nutrient” in either of those cups of coffees.  I know. .  I do not restrict myself from consuming the nutrient deficient option at every given moment of my life. And I don’t think you should either. Because it is not sustainable nor healthy. 🍑🍒🍰🍅🍔🍠🥬. . “Nutrient matters” has a two-fold meaning. The obvious one is that nutrients matter and it is important in a general sense to consume more nutrient dense foods and reduce our consumption of nutrient deficient foods. 🍎🍉🥭🥑🥦🥕🍇 .  The second and superseding meaning of nutrient matters is that our food choices are a matter of nutritional value. ⚖️ . .  This was intended to give people a perspective that doesn’t guide eating behaviours and choices by calorie concerns, desired weight, food anxiety/confusion etc but simply to uphold a need-for-nutrients guided perspective to be utilized in our descision making when it comes to food. 🧕🏻👩🏻‍🍳 . .  Nutrient matters is not necessarily a statement that argues you eat only the most nutrient dense foods. ❌  It is a perspective that reminds you to guide your thinking process by a nutrient conscious framework for making healthy food choices. .  And that doesn’t mean you will always chose the objectively healthy-er food. Chocolate Hazelnut Churros 🍫  Full recipe below, send it to a friend who’d love this!⁣ Tasty Miam and @buzzfeedtasty  Ingredients (for 8 churros) 1 cup warm water (240 mL) 2 teaspoons sugar, plus extra for coating 2 tablespoons canola oil, or rapeseed oil 1 cup flour (125 g) 2 eggs cinnamon, for coating chocolate hazelnut spread, for filling oil, for frying  Preparation In a saucepan, combine water, sugar and canola (or rapeseed) oil. Bring to a boil then remove from heat. Add the flour and stir vigorously until mixture forms a smooth paste. (Make sure you beat out all bubbles.) Add the eggs and stir until mixture becomes smooth. Spoon the dough into a piping bag with a star-shaped tip. NOTE: Really push the mixture down in the bag to eliminate air bubbles! Pipe strips onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Place in freezer for 45 minutes. Heat oil in a large pot to 350˚F (180˚C). Fry the churros until golden brown, then drain on paper towels. Using a straw, poke a hole through each churro to create room for the filling. Immediately sprinkle with a bit of cinnamon and sugar. Spoon chocolate hazelnut spread into a piping bag. Pipe filling into churros. (Не жирное ) у меня 72 % ✔️яйца-2шт. ✔️⃣соль-щепотка ✔️ванильный сахар-20г ВАЖНЫЕ МОМЕНТЫ‼️тесто обязательно надо положить на час в холодильник!  Масло надо брать НЕ жирное чтоб печенье при выпекание не поплыло!!! Можно даже маргарин!
