I’m being tagged in so many lovely pictures of my cars so am going to share some over the next few days. First up is this gorgeous picture from @theselittlesquaresofmine, who incidentally I’ve followed for ages and I just love her account, she’s definitely worth a follow. I’ve got some cars in jars for sale tonight, hoping to list them around 8.30pm, will post in my stories when I do. Don’t forget to tag me in your car pics so I can share them. #tillyandsagecars#fiat500#fiat500lovers#smallbizclub#makerschristmascountdown#makersgonnamake#etsyseller#etsyuk
Did you know that Victorian postmen used to be called robins, because of their bright red waistcoats? The Victorians started the tradition of giving Christmas cards here in the UK, and the early cards often had robins on them, to celebrate the postmen delivering all the cards 🎄 We still have many robin Christmas cards today, although I bet if you called your postman Robin these days, he would probably get very confused 😭

𝓝𝓮𝔀 𝓡𝓮𝓾𝓼𝓪𝓫𝓵𝓮 𝓒𝓱𝓻𝓲𝓼𝓽𝓶𝓪𝓼 𝓑𝓪𝓰𝓼! After trialing these at one of my stockists, they all sold within a few days, so I’ve just listed one of each designs in my Etsy Shop. The designs are all taken from my original cut paper collages & look rather fun on a bag that can be used to gift wrap or deliver pressies in over & over again! Move over plastic sacks, the cotton totes bag with an original artists print on is where it’s at!❤️
Fox vs Chicken. Two of the tall vases from the latest batch. I have so many photos of the new animals to share before the shop update but not enough time to do it, unless I post five times a day! . If I don’t say it, I’ll get asked so...sign up to my mailing list on my website to find out when the online shop update will happen 😉
A calm moment this morning before starting on the glazing. I love the different shades of clay after the bisque firing. The creamy white on the left is White St Thomas which I use for most of my animals. The pink on the right is Craft Crank which has a coarse texture and fires to a lovely toasty brown (my guinea pigs are made from it). And the brilliant white at the back is White Special Stoneware which I make into a slip to cast my vases. All are from @potclays . I’m looking forward to glazing my sheep most. She’s not going to be the usual colour you’d spot in the field 😉
Thank you, thank you, thank you! My animals sold out in record time last night and I’m feeling overwhelmed as usual by your support. It’s been a devastating and heart-breaking year for me but since July I’ve thrown myself back into my ceramics and tried my best to get on with things. I now find myself starting to look forward to what’s ahead of me and focusing less on the past. I’m in the process of buying a flat in my beloved city of Brighton and for the first time in a long time I feel, dare I say it, happy. Today I’ll be packing this lot up with the help of tea and mince pies.
The kiln has been emptied, I’m pleased with everything (that’s a first!) and it’s all go to get my Etsy shop ready for next week. If you’d like to know the exact date & time new items will be added, please sign up to my mailing list via my website. You’ll get an email 24 hours ahead with a preview of all the items and prices 👍
Well HELLO! Look, it’s me. I’m the brains, boss, brawn and beauty behind everything at angelachick.com. This month, I celebrate my SEVEN YEAR ANNIVERSARY of running my business full time. Wow. I’ve wrapped up my Christmas events for the year with a whopper of a weekend selling at both @brightonetsy and @sotonetsy Thanks to @claireabellemakes who captured this photo of me @brightonetsy 🥰 There are still a few days left to shop online with me, but I will be closing up shop on the afternoon of Wednesday 18th December so make sure you get your orders in before then. Sorry to everyone outside of the UK as your orders won’t arrive in time for Christmas now. As for UK residents, you can shop up to 2pm on Wednesday 18th December and you’ll get your order in time for Christmas AND with free delivery. But PLEASE don’t leave it that late. There are a few of my bestsellers I’m running really low on and will be out of stock in the next couple days (keep an eye on my stories for updates of these) so make sure you get what you need ASAP to avoid disappointment. Cool? Cool. Hope you’re all having a lovely time stuffing your faces with mince pies and gingerbread lattes 🤶🎅🎄A huge thanks to everyone who has helped keep that #smallbusiness smile on my face all these years ❤️💚❤️💚❤️
Can you tell I grew up watching Aardman animations? . I’m so pleased with how these hens turned out. The brown underglazes developed a lovely soft sheen in the high temperature of the kiln. I couldn’t have planned it! Available very soon 😉
My business turns 3 today! 🎉 Thank you to anyone who’s supported me, in anyway, over the past 3 years! I’ve had several meltdowns over the past few weeks with the busyness of Christmas but I’m so so thankful and have to pinch myself that my job is to make cute things and send them all over the world 💛🌎 I’m not taking part in Black Friday, but as a business birthday treat theres 20% off anything on my website until Wednesday. Use code 3TODAY 🎉
*NOW CLOSED* GIVEAWAY TIME! To celebrate 50,000 of you out there following my ceramic adventures, it’s time for another giveaway. The winner will receive this mini Melville bud vase (the same prize as last time, but he is popular and the only creature I have in stock!) To take part, all you have to do is leave a comment with a guess as to how many animals I have sold since getting going in 2015. Here are the rules: • Only one guess per person please. If you suggest more than one number then your first guess only will be counted. • The person to get closest to the number will win. • Entries close on Monday 28th October at 6pm UK time. • I’ll cover worldwide postage. . *HINT* My Etsy shop isn’t the only place I’ve sold my ceramics over the years. I’ve also taken part in the Etsy Xmas market a few times and several artist open houses. I also did commissions in the early days 😉 . Have fun guessing!
Hands up if you like butter beans! I love them 😋 . Betty butter bean and my bods are the only non-animal things I make. This little bunch, including a special edition Betty in her sassy red boots, will be available in my shop next week. Sign up to my mailing list via my website to find out when it’ll be.
Some are enjoying the party, some aren’t. This bunch of guinea pigs have turned out rather well. I’m not sure if I’m getting better or the kiln is baking things more efficiently, but the finish is rather nice. A heads up to those on my mailing list. Please check your junk folders this week and also your additional inboxes some email providers have recently introduced. I had lots of disappointed people contact me last time, only to find that the email had been classed as spam. You could even add ‘[email protected]’ to your safe list to be extra sure.
Golly gosh, I've not been here for 10 months!!! 🙀 So sorry all. I imagine I've missed so much, but don't even know where to start to catch up! What have I missed? What's been happening in your world? Fill me in 😻 How has your weekend been going so far? (This is Peter Pumpkin by the way. He's hiding in my Etsy store right now.)
