When it comes to building muscle and making visible changes in your physique, it requires placing TENSION on the muscle. This can be done through a wide variety of different methods, but rest assured unless you’re challenging your muscles, they have no reason to grow. Remember: your muscles have no idea how much weight you’re lifting — it doesn’t matter if you’re lifting a barbell, a horse, or a car, your body responds to tension, not a specific weight. All too often I see men in the gym sacrificing results by executing terrible form just to add a few vanity pounds on the bar. Listen, if you’re not executing a FULL range of motion at a slow and controlled pace throughout the entire movement, you’re not getting the most out of your exercise. Men — leave your ego at the door and reduce the weight. No one cares how much you’re lifting. The execution of solid technique is far more impressive than 10 extra pounds. And women — there is no point in lifting weights lighter than your purse. You’re stronger than you think you are. Push yourself outside of your comfort zone and give your muscles a reason to grow. I feel like it can be frustrating🙄in the ~late beginning~ of a new🔆goal. • After the newness 🤩of the first couple days ✏️wear off ~ your patience 😠and will-power 😰can get tested📃. That’s when motivation 💪🏻 can sometimes start to fade 👎🏻 • Getting over the first hill 🏔 will set 💯 the precedent for the rest of your journey🌃. Just chilling on Keri (also spelled Querim) beach in Goa 😁 So just after I clicked this one, I noticed my tubby-chubby tummy peeking out, trying to make sure she’s also part of the group (me, beach etc) photo 😅🙈 Ho did I react? Well I took another pic this time trying to casually cover the tummy with my hand (check the second pic) but failed miserably 🤣 and thankfully coz the next moment it hit me! 😳 We talk so much about body positivity, accepting how you are, not trying to conform to those stupid stereotypical standards on IG and other social media but when it comes to taking a pic for our own page, we’re back to ground zero, at least I was 🙆♀️ We try to make the pic as pretty as possible, we look at it hard, every nook and corner, check the hair, lips, blah blah blah and what not 😬 So I wanted to make it a point that I post the tummy-ed pic first and learn to accept and portray myself as I am, not as others like to see me. 🥰😘🙏🏻 What’s you favourite ‘oh I don’t wanna post this pic of mine’ moment 😅
