Inspiration for the branding of Abeja District started in Barcelona, with its geometric city blocks. From there we pulled a colour palette, a flavour and a theme: a beehive-esque community with Spanish flair that breathes light and life.
FEAR it creeps into our headspace on a day to day basis. How do we get rid of it ? The truth is I never am able to get rid of it completely but I normally can find some kind of solution to kick it to the side. I ask myself these three questions: ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ 1. Is there a solution for your fear? If not talk it out or brainstorm ideas to help subside your fear. Examples: * Practice Yoga * Get whatever done that needs to get done so that you can stop stressing * Talk with someone ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ 2. Am I being too critical of myself ? If so step back a moment and think of 3 positive responses. Examples might be: * You are taking action and that’s a great step * You are trying your best * You are bettering yourself by educating yourself * You look great * You are strong ⠀⠀ 3. Take those judgemental people out of the scenario, do you feel good in what you are wearing/creating/or doing? * If the answer is no then change it and if the answer is yes, then return to question two and try giving yourself positive responses.
How do you add years to your life and life to your years? Self-Care. It's an absolute necessity for living a healthy life...a non negotiable. And can look different for everyone. Sometimes, it's letting yourself hit snooze for an extra 30 minutes. And sometimes it's setting the alarm 30 minutes earlier to get in quiet time before a crazy day. Sometimes it's swapping your nightly wine for herbal tea. Sometimes it's inviting your bestie over to share a bottle. Sometimes it's saying yes to a walk in nature and letting your to-do list sit. Sometimes it's saying no to something that just makes your day or life too overwhelming. Self care can be and look like a lot of things. But it always starts with one thing... Giving yourself permission to prioritize yourself. We are better people and better at everything we do if we are rested, balanced, happy and healthy. INKTOBER No 22 :: Continuing to draw from reference with an ink drawing of the talented @ahuynharts (you should follow and like and comment her work btw!). My skin tone Artist Loft marker I wanted to use for this drawing died on me so I left it black and white which luckily for me kind of works with the aesthetic of her current work so I guess it all worked out??? P.S. I’m constantly trying to get better at drawing from reference while perfecting my style so if you have a selfie you would want me to draw, just shoot it to my DM! Thanks!🙌🏾
