Put half of a jar of @bertolli_us Alfredo sauce in the bottom of a baking dish.⁣ 2. Cut broccoli and cauliflower and steam until slightly tender (5-7 mins).⁣ 3. Remove broccoli and cauliflower and cover the bottom of a baking dish.⁣ 4. Add sausage cut into small pieces.⁣ 5. Add half of a jar of @ragu Double Cheddar cheese sauce to cover.⁣ 6. Bake @ 400 covered for 20 mins.⁣ 7. Uncover and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.⁣ 8. Place back in oven until Cheese is melted

There’s something I’ve been wanting to say for a while now but didn’t know how to put it into words, or maybe I was afraid. I think there are some major misinterpretations and confusion surrounding the body positivity movement. I think it needs to be said very clearly that loving and accepting your body and self, and wanting to change and improve your body and self are not mutually exclusive. ⁣ ⁣ The Shandra on the left had already lost about 40 lbs and was truly stepping into her power and self love for the first time in her LIFE. She also had an insatiable desire to go after her dreams, goals, and health. Without both, there would be no Shandra on the right.  Today I can proudly and honestly say that I own my independence, my deeply held sense of self-worth and value, and my gratitude for what I have and what I am. I also wholeheartedly and insatiably desire to improve all parts if myself and my life. ⁣ ⁣ Do not fall into the trap of believing that you cannot do both. When I was younger, I was stick thin but once I hit puberty, My legs got bigger and so did my hips... when I was in my car accident and I broke my neck and had a stroke, I was immobile and it got worse. My whole reason for getting healthy was so that I could run, play and be the best mom I could be for my son.  The weight loss has definitely helped but the pain from lipedema has put a damper on me feeling my best to do those things with my kiddo. Sometimes I have really bad weeks in terms of nutrition and exercise. This week was one of those for me. After a mess up it’s easy to say f it and give up, I’ve messed up so I might as well carry on. But honestly the best thing to do is carry on like the mess up didn’t happen and work the rest of your days around it. If you ate too many calories on Wednesday reduce your calorie intake on Thursday. You didn’t put on weight overnight, you didn’t lose it overnight and you’re not going to put it back on overnight.
