When you accept your place at the table, you’re able to look beyond the measuring stick, the comparison, the distractions. You’re able to give your story in honesty and authenticity to those who’ve come to receive it. When you embrace your place, all the yearning for attention, accolades, or the need to be perfect gets left at the door. Between yesterday and today, I’ve shared some of the not so pretty parts of lessons I’ve learned with my oldest daughter and another beautiful sister. Internally, I felt myself cringe a little as I talked because come on, don’t we all wanna present our BEST selves at ALL times? Well, I’ve come to learn that the gift doesn’t always lie in the best self. The gift lies in the messy places, the meat middle as @lysaterkeurst calls it. So the next time you’re either literally invited to a table or a conversation, check the facades, acting, and pretense at the door. People get full off of REAL food not light snacks or fluff! We had only been in Mexico for our honeymoon for a couple of days. But this specific morning was different.⠀ ⠀ We finished our breakfast and were reading our Bibles on the balcony, just letting ourselves rest and enjoy all that God had done. But we both felt a heavy burden to get on our knees and to pray for the people in our lives, all the ministries we were serving, and all the future things that God was beginning to stir up within us. So we knelt and prayed. ⠀ ⠀ Looking back, I believe one of the things we were praying for (without knowing it) was Forward Conversations - the podcast @nickbeecher and I are launching this January. Now I can see that at the very beginning of our marriage God was stirring up dreams and vision to serve and love people in a greater magnitude. ⠀ ⠀ 👉🏻👉🏻👉🏻Nick and I believe you were recreated for more! To live a life fully alive and reclaimed by Christ. Free from darkness, and shame; and made alive to the person God has created you to be. We believe in discipleship and pushing back darkness. We believe in helping people move forward to the glory of God.👈🏻👈🏻👈🏻⠀ ⠀ After months of praying, fasting and seeking counsel, we are so excited to start this next phase of ministry together. We want Christians to come alive to God and his purpose for their lives one conversation at a time. ⠀ ⠀ Will you join us? Let us know in the comments who YOU would like us to interview and we should talk about!⠀ ⠀ Xoxo!⠀ 🥳🥳🥳
National Others Week begins on the 3rd of November, and goes til the 9th.🎉⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ It's a week when we intentionally look for ways to be kind. ❤️⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ Here are some ideas to show someone that they matter:⠀ - Wash windows for a local business.⠀ - Mow the lawn for a neighbour.⠀ - Deliver fresh flowers to residents at Nursing Homes.⠀ - Pay for a stranger's groceries.⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ How will you show someone that they matter? 💭⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ Use the #highlandsnow2019 to share with us!⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #wearehighlanders
My first Bible Study was a Beth Moore study. 🌻 I was drawn in by her passion for scripture, desire to know who God is, and desire for me to know what the Bible says for myself. I'm so thankful for her leadership in my life and how she has helped women and men to turn to God in all things. 🌼 We are all welcome at the table. We are each welcome behind the pulpit if we are so-called to teach and share what God has given us. 🌻 Speaking at church is about encouraging others to get in the Bible for themselves. Because you can't trust your Pastors to give you the real truth, their words should always be tested by what the Bible says. 🌼 They aren't the Savior. 🌻 They aren't perfect. 🌼 They mess up. 🌻 They can deliver their opinions and interpretations, more than they preach the truth. 🌼 Jesus is the one that saves us. It's all becasue of him. 🌻 And hopefully, we are each willing to always lead with the Gospel instead of our egos. From the stage to our homes. 🌼
When a leader uses a stage to slander his sister, elevating a difference in interpretation to the weight of heresy, the church trembles under that division. It quakes and re-calibrates, drawing sides and speaking out. Some of us are righteously angry. Some of us were in the crowd that laughed as he made his remarks. And some of us are standing there asking, “Who is right? How do I know what is true?” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This situation is a perfect testing ground for discernment, an opportunity for you to put into practice what I have taught you in this space. It requires asking the questions: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ What is heresy? What is worth dividing the church over? What is a false teacher and what is a sister or brother teaching the gospel, though I disagree with some of the methodology? At what point does “righteous” indignation become the fruitless anger of man? Did I actually read the work of the accused, or did I take her out of context, assume I knew her, when I never even did the work? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ These questions must be answered in order to weigh these situations wisely and come to a Holy Spirit led conclusion. That takes time. And time might mean sitting with the issue until the hub-bub has passed by. It might mean not speaking up when everybody’s talking. But when you do have something to say, you can know it wasn’t slander for slander, anger for anger, but a truth grounded in more than emotion. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Some people demand unity without orthodoxy. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Some people act as if orthodoxy approves of arrogance. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ And some of us want to do what is right and what is gracious. Believe it or not, both can be had.
🧡Picking pumpkins! 🎃 I have never experienced wandering a field to find the perfect pumpkin to take home before! 😱 I think though there were too many choices haha how do you chose the perfect one? I almost closed the doors to my live event before they were even open.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Originally, Magnify LIVE was going to be a fulfillment event for my 2019 Magnify Mastermind. Members at the VIP level were scheduled to have 3 live events this year, and this was #3.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But I felt God lay it on my heart to open this event to the public, and so I followed His prompting.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Going in, I had a particular budget in mind for the event. But as we got into the planning, I felt it turning into something way bigger than I originally planned. And I got nervous.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I immediately dug into the mindset work and got serious with God about my concerns.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Literally a day or two after that, I received a payment that was DOUBLE what I had anticipated. And I just laughed when I saw it come through, because I KNEW it was God's confirmation that I was doing the right thing. And He would take care of me.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ EVERY time God has called me to something that has felt scary and uncomfortable, He has provided above and beyond, always exceeding and and all of my expectations.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In what way has God given YOU confirmation that you're on the right path? Share your experience below!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #saraannapowers#thecongruentlife#onlinebusinesscoach#businesscoachforwomen#buildalifeyoulove#goalgetters#fempreneur#hustlewithease#womeninspiringwomen#womenonamission#womenwholead#womenoftheword#propelwomen#leadhership#gritandvirtue#gritandgrace
“God is love and He has never created anything for our bedazzlement. He is brighter than every rising sun, and more calm than the trickling of rain on one’s skin. He doesn’t come, create, and then vanish; He’s an ever present King. And every small detail of His creation remains being particularly designed to praise the eternal One. He’s always watching, delighting in the goodness that He knows belongs to Him.”
Joy. Take a step back, says the part of me that fights my flesh, and see the joy that is still there. Remember, God’s joy is for you and waiting to be grasped again and again. . I have come to know this unwavering joy stemming from God’s promises, and His love for us, as I get older. With each disappointment. With each mistake. With each despair. With each moment of feeling as though I am nothing. With each of those circumstances and moments comes also a pause, if I just wait for it (allow it), of God’s joy that says look beyond right now and see what God is doing. See what He has done. Remember what is to come.
Sunday morning reminder that no matter what you believe about yourself, God decides what is true. You are an heir to God’s kingdom through Christ, imagine how worthy you are in His eyes ❤️ - Galatians 4:6-7
Some of you are in dry land right now. God wants to tell you: It won’t always be that way. The time in the desert is supposed to prune you, to stretch and prepare you for what lies ahead. You won’t always walk on this dry road. Just keep going and your feet will touch green grass again. . I know you’re thirsty but God hasn’t forgotten about you. Just hang on a little more, keep going a little further and God will meet you there. You will see his glory and conquer new land. . Your eyes will see the king in his beauty and view a land that stretches afar. Isaiah 33:17 . Can you imagine Jesus walking around and each person He looks at, with all the crowds surrounding Him on many occasions, He sees completely full of love and compassion for each one of them. He has no first judgements, no first impressions. He is not presumptuous, or prejudice. He only knows how to see people through eyes of love and is so rooted and grounded in the reality that everyone has an eternal value in the sight of the Father.
😌I have a feeling that even though we all believe in different things, carry different burdens, and struggle differently- we all share one desire and that is to be known. Known by our friends, family, or even strangers. Maybe God. We all probably enjoy laughing really hard with others as well. So we aren’t as different as we seem. 🌈These girls loved selfies as much as me. And in my heart, I believe they are known, whether they see it or not. 🌼🧡To this day I still think about how precious our time was in Indonesia. It affected me so deeply and wonderfully. #totheendsoftheearth#happysunday
Hey everyone! It’s erinn, initiator of the @Freakingbeautiful_ movement. It is a true honor to listen to women’s stories and testimonies from all over. Time after time, it’s a story of feeling unloved and worthless turned into victories. Amazing victories. But it does not stop there. I’m burdened with this truth. We need to spread the word. We HAVE to believe the truth about who we are. We have to believe we are beautiful. Not when we lose weight. Not when we recover from shame. Now. Just as you are. This is a small movement in the making. A simple reminder of the real truth. We need to believe it. The time is now! WOMEN! YOU ARE FREAKING BEAUTIFUL. It's the only expression that comes to mind that helps the emotion behind the message. ✨ We just want to spread the word in a beautiful, creative way. Every sticker sold, 2 will be given away. Be apart of them movement and tell someone, and yourself, they are #freakingbeautiful [vinyl stickers. water bottle + laptop approved] STICKER LINK IN BIO.
✨ 𝚃𝙷𝙸𝙴𝚅𝙴𝚂 𝙲𝙻𝙴𝙰𝙽𝙴𝚁! ✨ We ditched toxic chemicals and switched to all-natural, 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒕-𝒃𝒂𝒔𝒆𝒅 products in our home. Why? ✔ Many generic, chemical-based cleaners contain 𝐩𝐡𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬, which are endocrine-disruptors and carcinogenic. ✔ Chemicals can be absorbed through your skin. This cleaner smells like Christmas, is ultra-concentrated, and lasts months. And it’s affordable. You can make one, 16 oz. spray bottle for approximately $1. If you’re still using chemicals in your home, consider this alternative. 𝚈𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚑𝚘𝚖𝚎 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚋𝚘𝚍𝚢 𝚠𝚒𝚕𝚕 𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚗𝚔 𝚢𝚘𝚞.
So grateful for the ones in my world who are running their race well, using what God has put in their hands to build up, encourage, strengthen, and help others. People who don't see one another as competition or a problem, but as an answer... part of the same team. Let's be known as people who understand that it's so much better when we do this Kingdom work together. We need each other. We need community. We need the stretch of working together, doing life together, and enjoying the journey. There's plenty of space for us all to thrive and flourish and grow in our gifts. Let’s not get jealous, envious, or discouraged by other's giftings (in any sphere of life). Let’s not hold back encouragement from others who are doing the same thing as us because we're intimidated or suspicious or threatened that their success negates what we bring to the table. Let’s be free and generous with our love and encouragement and grace for others. It will refresh and energize us far more than striving and competing ever will. When we enlarge, make room for, encourage, and speak to the gift and call on each other's lives, we are expanding the scope of TEAM, family, and the body of Christ. We need each other. We need the breadth and diversity and perspective that each one of us brings to the table. We really are better together. I don’t ever want to make this page about me as a person or “personality.” That will never be my goal. However, when I hear issues or see issues I also don’t want to shy away from addressing them. This is a photo of me preaching a few days ago. I realize that this alone is enough for some people to get upset, but I thought I would put that out there before I go any further, because there’s something I want to address today. I’m not going to name people or denominations, because I don’t think that is helpful to this conversation. But I recently saw a clip of a panel of men in some sort of conference setting, where one was speaking, I’m assuming answering some sort of audience question or topic prompt said a few things that left me feeling like I needed to respond. The main point he was trying to make is that women need theology too, which sounds great on the surface, Of course ALL PEOPLE need theology, but his other comments went in another direction altogether. He started out by saying, ”we do not believe a woman could be an elder” attributing that to the fact that, in “dangerous places of the world” he “would not want a woman by his side.” I’m not sure what these two things had to do with one another, but that’s how he decided to argue that. He went on to say that women need more than women’s ministries whose goal is to teach women to make lemonade out of lemons rather than teaching deep theological issues of the bible. I agree 100% with this statement, but his was said in way of directing conversation to say that women shouldn’t feel limited because they can’t preach to men, because statistically 75% of the worlds population is made up of women and children (under 15)” so “women can do a lot of work.” This is where it gets really interesting for me. He said that famous women missionaries and the biblical example of women like Deborah “shouldn’t have done that” but “when the men are so weak that God
