So back in April, I tried my favorite denim dress on. As you can see from my face I was gutted!! The second pic was May and the third pic is me NOW #nsv I’m so so happy!! I screamed in excitement. Knowing I’m back in it makes me feel so bloody good.! This was my goal and I’ve smashed it in just 3 months. I can’t bloody believe it. It’s photos like these that got me through the ups and downs and this picture kept me going every time I wanted to give up. I wasn’t going to try it on today as I was still hesitant. “Change is painful, but nothing is as painful as staying stuck somewhere you don’t belong.” ~ I am only two and a half years into my physical transition so far, I started cross-hormone treatment back in June 2017 and had my chest reconstruction surgery a little over 3 months ago. This isn’t including the many years of socially transitioning before medical intervention. I eventually came out around the age of 16, so it has been in total, 5 years of my life so far. Transitioning is something that is so over-glorified on social media these days that we rarely mention the ugly side of transitions. Not all go as smoothly and as easy as others. Some things will not go as planned, some results will not be to your liking or expectations set by the others you see online. You may have medical issues that prevent you from getting treatment. You will find out who your true family/friends are along the way and lose those who you once thought supported and cared about you, as their blatant transphobia rears it’s ugly head. Every. Transition. Is. Different. Taking cross hormones is a life long commitment, and it comes with its own health risks. Each and every single one of us knows this. And yet some people still see it as a choice. If I had the choice I would’ve loved to have been happy the way I was and to live out the rest of my life comfortably. But I could not call my body my home. Had transitioning not been an option, I wouldn’t be here. So I am truly thankful and grateful. For the amazing and constant progression of medical science. For every single psychiatrist, doctor, surgeon and nurse that has taken care of me and for the amazing support from all of my family and friends, even all of you who support me on this platform too. I love each and every one of you. Even when things have gotten rough, you have kept me going all these years, and no amount of words can express my gratitude! To all my fellow trans* folks, it does get better. But gradually.

—> Hi, my name is Ashley 💜 . I am a single mom of two amazing kiddos and I am so blessed to have the opportunity to work from home doing what I love ❤️ But I didn’t start there. . My weight loss journey started in 2014. I was nine months postpartum with my daughter and during the course of my pregnancy I had gained close to 80 pounds ☹️ . After I had my daughter I just continued to gain weight. I also suffered from postpartum depression and just had NO motivation to lose weight. My starting weight was 234 pounds and I wore a size 24 jean. I started this whole weight loss journey simply by working out from home. Yup! I never stepped foot into a gym and lost over 80 pounds 😍 Shortly after losing the weight, I found out I was pregnant with my second baby. My pregnancy with my son was much healthier and I only gained 25 pounds during my pregnancy with him. I worked out my entire pregnancy, up until the day he was born actually 🏋🏼♀️ After I had him I sort of struggle to lose the weight though. I bounce back-and-forth with my weight, and eventually, I hit a plateau in my weight loss. January 2019- December 2019 🥳. 🏋🏻♀️ 13 lbs difference, time to build some muscle 💪🏼. 🥰 My mental health went from 0 to 100. 😁 I learned to be happy and love myself more. 🚫 I removed negative people from my life. 🤗 I learned that treating people how they treat you is not always a good idea, that can make you look like a shitty person but sometimes is necessary to give them a taste of their own medicine 😉. 🙌🏼 Overall this year was better than last year tbh.
