We don’t just throw money at our showrooms, we are canny and careful and we use our imagination to create displays from all kinds of interesting objects. We dry chilies and hang them on threads, we search for Mediterranean brocante, we even shipped dried herbs from our Creative Director's garden just so we could hang a fragrant piece of rosemary in this mustard Shaker kitchen. The idea of transporting people to a place that feels totally authentic is exciting, for our customers to enter our showroom and instantly feel they are surrounded by inspiration and a kitchen that they could actually have in their home. #devolkitchens
Cheers to me new JOB!!! So on Friday I travelled down to Blackburn for a interview to be store manager and little old me got the news today saying I got it! I honestly couldn’t believe it! I come away from the interview thinking I had absolutely spoilt my chances thinking I done absolutely terrible, I didn’t even tell any of my friends or family I was going for it but I’m so glad I did!! I’ve kinda put my career on hold since having the girls but know they are older I’ve decided to give it ago and see what happens it’s time baby!🥳! #newjob#workingmummy#newbeginnings
How’s your start to the week been? Here I’ve been catching up on housework, painting doors and door frames and laying out artwork on the floor to finally try to finish one of the walls in the living room. It’s made trickier by the fact I need to hide an old electricity fuse box thingy (all the technical terms here) that is sunk into the wall. What do you think, shall we have a sweepstake to see if this living room may actually be finished, with a grand reveal by the end of the week? Not sure I can handle the pressure 😂 . In other news I’ve ordered a dining table 🥳 Only my 4th attempt... 🙄 Keep praying to the table gods please, we must stay focused!
It’s just occurred to me that I’ve not shared a photo of the kitchen since the floor was finished! So I took the opportunity whilst it was tidy for five seconds on Sunday to take a million of them at all different angles, and will be sure you to spam you with the lot. 😉 Little bit of snagging left to do in here (and let’s pretend the glass pendants aren’t in such desperate need of a dusting!) but this is definitely the most finished room in the house and will probably always be my favourite. 🖤
Our wonderful Staplehurst kitchen is all that is bespoke and all that is Kent. It has been designed and made to live in a converted barn, with stunning original oak beams. The dark painted finish of the cabinetry contrasts beautifully with the oak and light white stone worktops. A traditional double butler sink, keeps the kitchen's style within the home's history. Sink goals, right!?
Lots of the kitchens we design have islands in them and most of those islands have a breakfast bar or overhang on the end or the side. The need for a great stool was apparent, but we found it quite hard to find one at a sensible price, that is beautiful to look at and comfy to sit on. This is our Bum Stool, we love it and we love that our customers have embraced this design by deVOL too. It's made from solid, high quality British timbers and we can ship it all over the world - with or without a kitchen! #devolkitchens
