DOING IT IN THE DARK. . Nothing has gone to plan this week meaning running has been a bit all over the place and have really struggled to fit it in. There were so many reasons not to run tonight but I ignored the voices and headed to the track. . Increased my reps as planned now up to 8x800m to gradually work on my speed endurance. I was averaging around 5:50-6:00/mi pace which is where I want to be so very happy with that and was really pleased with the consistency. . I really do need to review the times I’m going running as it seems a struggle to fit them in so may have to look at early mornings 😩😴

𝔸 𝕓𝕖𝕒𝕦𝕥𝕚𝕗𝕦𝕝 𝕡𝕝𝕒𝕔𝕖 𝕥𝕠 𝕡𝕒𝕣𝕜𝕣𝕦𝕟 - So I was listening to a new (to me) podcast today. @withmenowpod is the unofficial @parkrunuk podcast. I put a call out on Twitter for some running podcast selections and this one was mentioned a few times. So I downloaded the latest episode and listened tonight - while I lapped the town repeatedly collecting children (my children, I'm not weird). - It's good. It's very good. And funnily enough they did a piece on the new @castle_howard parkrun. The one I went along to for the first time last Saturday. So, here's a shot of a runner with an Irish Wolfhound running past the back of the house. Check out the podcast, it is good.
Quiet and nice 10km ride today. Great setting in the local area of Hammel . Over the years have become very happy with my gel keyano 25 which I bought on top of my foot injury. They have really helped🏃♂️. Sometimes you have to take chances with shoes to see if they help and help, and I must say that has given me a bonus this time😎. So happy Monday to all you lovely people💙💛🎉.

In one of @nklastava most recent posts he talked about the impact an amazing coach can have on your life. He said, “Find yourself someone who generally cares about you and doesn’t look at you as a number to add to their BQ or OTQ count or to showcase their brand. From the moment I joined with David (his coach) he always cared about me the person not the runner. He always focuses on my life journey, not just running, with what’s best for me, my family, and my busy life. He always said he cares more that I am leading a fulfilling life and I’m an amazing dad to my children over whether some clock says some number at some arbitrary line. And I’ve believed that since the day we started together.” Let’s give it up for all of the AMAZING coaches out there! 🙌🏼 And maybe even spoil yours with a bag of Megaton to show your appreciation 😉
Nice night for an Olympic Park progression lap. So good. The legs felt really strong after the weekend's long run. I had a long work day and spent most of it seated so a loosener was essential. With a little over a week to go until the festival of the @nycmarathon it was great to just enjoy a run and though I sweated up a storm, the conditions were ideal. I think I settled on my marathon shoe tonight with the @altrarunning Provision feel winning out over the @topoathletic Ultrafly which, to be fair, have carried me through a lot of kms in the build up. Now, enough; time for sustenance and shower 🏃🏻♂️👊🏼👍🏼
He did it! Parker Stinson (@_parker_stinson_) has been open and honest about his goal of breaking 2:11 in the marathon for two years. Last weekend at the Chicago marathon he turned that vision into a reality. He was one of 10 American men to break 2:12 in a phenomenal group performance. In this episode, we talk about all that, how it feels to get the monkey off his back, finally pacing the full 26.2 the way he dreamed, and more, in Parker’s typical and wonderful frankness. • 🎧 The show is available on nearly all podcast apps, including Spotify, and the Apple Podcast link is in my bio 🎧 • This episode is sponsored by @InsideTracker.
