Today's festival participant announcement is LUCY ADELAIDE. Lucy Adelaide is an illustrator living in West Hobart. When not doodling she studies zoology, which is lucky as the animal world provides good inspiration for her comics. She has done drawings for Happy Mag, VICE, World Vision and more. A short Q&A with Lucy: Q: What is a book that everyone should read? A: Since reading the Neapolitan Novels a couple of years ago I've been recommending them to everybody. They're such a beautiful and truthful portrayal of female friendship and of life. I wish I could read them again for the first time, but I can at least live vicariously through others who get to! Q: If you could save one book in a fire, which would it be? A: As others have said, any book is replaceable. So I'll have to go with my tattered old copy of 'Italian Folktales' by Italo Calvino. My favourite book as a child, currently held together with blue duct tape. Sure it'd be replaceable too, but my copy holds so many memories! Q: What are you currently reading? A: 'Three Women' by Lisa Taddeo and 'The Song of the Dodo' by David Quammen.

Zoo City by Lauren Beukes another required reading Moment for my Post-Apartheid South African Lit class :) this book was super unique in its mythology - those who have committed terrible sins have their souls become attached to an animal companion and are known as the dreaded “animalled,” aka the looked-down-upon of South African society. our protagonist Zinzi (whose animal is a sloth, hence my genius choice of background for this pic) has a talent for finding “lost things” for people and gets roped into an elaborate search for a young pop star after one of her clients is murdered. the plot is so twisty and really went places i was not expecting it to go! the ending is really gory and grotesque which was a Lot to get through. the story starts off pretty confusing but the multi-media type format includes background info throughout the book so that you learn about this world as you to. there’s a lot to unpack here in terms of Apartheid themes and symbolism but i’ll save that for class 📕📕 for required curriculum reading, she was really cool!!! i highly recommend if you’re looking for something really original out there in the world of magical realism rating: 📚📚📚📚
world criminals and international Zionist secret agencies are committing terrorism for their own benefits to steal natural resources from the third world countries. And to attack these countries under a false justifications. Those criminals lied about prophet Mohammad peace be upon him and they have said untrue things about him and it's my duty to clarify to the world how great is the prophet Mohammad peace be upon him and few muslims dont follow his teachings these days. Islam is the religion of peace and prophet Muhammad peace be upon him is the massenger of peace. He have been sent by Allah to spread the law of Allah and to spread wealth and moral ethics. Look around you the rich become richer and the poor become poorer. Usury and violence is everywhere and on top of that criminals who loved man-made laws have the lust to insult Prophet Muhammad and islam in the media. if we practice islam as it is by doing good deeds and also by following the teachings of the prophet surely we will be happy in this life and after. #boxing👊#painting#traveling#graphic #sketch_daily#draw#education#boxingtraining#reading#life#pictures#knowledge #workout💪#newyork#inspirational#instagramer#galleryart #readersofinstagram#peace#washington #artistsoninstagram#boxer#mystery#japan_focus#gallery#discover#believe#america#alien#ufo
