When a man installed a security camera outside his house, he checked the video feature to ensure that the system was working. He was alarmed to see a broad-shouldered figure in dark clothing wandering around his yard. He watched intently to see what the man would do. The interloper seemed familiar, however. Finally he realized he wasn’t watching a stranger roam his property, but a recording of himself in his own backyard! What might we see if we could step out of our skin and observe ourselves in certain situations? When David’s heart was hardened and he needed an outside perspective—a godly perspective—on his involvement with Bathsheba, God sent Nathan to the rescue (2 Samuel 12). Nathan told David a story about a rich man who robbed a poor man of his only lamb. Though the rich man owned herds of animals, he slaughtered the poor man’s lone sheep and made it into a meal. When Nathan revealed that the story illustrated David’s actions, David saw how he had harmed Uriah. Nathan explained the consequences, but more important he assured David, “The Lord has taken away your sin” (v. 13). If God reveals sin in our lives, His ultimate purpose isn’t to condemn us, but to restore us and to help us reconcile with those we’ve hurt. Repentance clears the way for renewed closeness with God through the power of His forgiveness and grace. From odb.org
This is the face of my precious baby suffering from acid reflux. We have to hold and rock and walk around with him for an hour after every feeding just to try and make him feel better. It’s exhausting and it hurts seeing him in so much pain! We had him on ranitidine which got recalled, the doctor prescribed a new kind of medication which the insurance company wouldn’t pay for, and the new type he prescribed just isn’t working. Am Really praying that this soon passes! #refluxbaby#sad#hurt#lifeisbetterwithyou#gtubebaby#t21#downsyndrome#prayer#pain
You guys...I'm freaking out a little bit! • Tonight is the FIRST NIGHT that I will be away from my little man & the FIRST NIGHT that both my husband and I will be separated from him & on our FIRST DATE "sans baby". • My heart is a literal dichotomy! On the one hand, I could cry because I'm going to MISS my baby 😭❤️ (& I'm an enneagram 6...so there's also some totally unwarranted worry about not being there to 'protect him' and keep him safe lol), BUT I could also cry because I can't believe that I'm going to get to be ALONE with my husband finally 😱💕 (feels too good to be true and WAY overdue). • So yeah, it's going to be a "horribly great" evening 😆...with a very conflicted wife/mama heart...prayers appreciated! 🙏🏼😅❤️ • Other moms...how did you manage the first time you were away from your little baby?! But also the first time you were able to be alone with your hubs?! 🙃 • PC: @christistonerphotography

The Bible tells us how God uses suffering, perhaps more than anything, to free us, grow us and bless us. The story of Esther is such a clear example of that, an orphan girl turned queen whose obedience and faith led to the rescue of an entire race. But before the happy end she was struggle with insecurities and fear, the 'what ifs' of our lives. Then her cousin Mordecai said, "For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place (...) but maybe you were made queen for just such a time as this." We did not end up where we are on our own. And whatever is the challenge before us, the ultimate goal is to give Him glory and help His beloved ones. We just have to say a courageous and bold yes. I did not want to extend me but I must to point to Mordecai's boldness too, he would be probably the first to die, as a gibbet was ready for him, but he knew whether through Esther's intervention or another place, redemption was a sure thing. From death to life. From persecution to the second in power only to the King. He makes all things new!
we went through a phase a few years ago where we weren’t getting along , we argued everyday over nothing . 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐰𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐝𝐧’𝐭 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 . until after we got engaged we didn’t learn how one another took one another’s words, facial expressions and tones . just months out from our wedding and it’s been a rough ride . no relationship is easy, not one relationship is perfect but our relationship is my favorite 💍💚✨
Our faithful Bishop Dominic Tang Yee-Ming, we remember you especially during @marchforthemartyrs, you were persecuted by the Chinese government and tortured. You never abandoned God and we will never forget you. Pray for us. . The government indicted him as "the most faithful running-dog of the reactionary Vatican" and imprisoned him without trial or conviction of any specific crime on February 5, 1958. Thus began 22 years in prison, including seven years of solitary confinement. Malnutrition and mental torture were some of the sufferings he would record in his journal, How Inscrutable His Ways!, published in 1987. "I obeyed only the regulations which did not conflict with the principles of my faith. . . . There are many opportunities for practicing virtue in prison." Bishop Kung would endure similar affliction for 33 years and, like him, Tang contracted cancer and was sent to Hong Kong upon his release in 1981 in what the government called "an act of leniency." In that same year, Pope John Paul II elevated Tang to archbishop. . When I first met him, I had little knowledge of his life. We both spoke at a symposium in St. Mary’s Seminary in Baltimore. At lunch I was surprised by how he kept dropping his food. Later I learned that his hands had been crippled during his prison years. I still reproach myself for my superciliousness. When he offered Mass in the chapel, deacons assisted him as he shuffled up the long aisle. After his only pair of shoes had worn out in prison, he had spent the rest of those 22 winters barefoot. The Communists had promised to release him at any time, if only he would renounce allegiance to Rome. From the altar he cried out three times to the assembled faculty and seminarians in halting English: "No pope, no Catholic Church!" . . #catholicconnect#catholic#catholicism#catholicchurch#vatican#prayer#christianity#christian#love#martyrdom#martyr#marchforthemartyrs

God’s grace is all we need. In our weakest moments, His grace working through us, reveals the miraculous power of all that He can do in and through us. “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me” (2 Corinthians 12:8-9).

🌸. The culture we live in constantly presents us new objects of desire. We're constantly missing what’s better, more beautiful, more luxurious. Advertisements, movies, and even some personal development messages (reaching 6-7digit numbers, a house in Malibu, dream holidays...) create in us new cravings against what we don't need. Unless we reach them, we feel like we miss on life. Yet in reality, real freedom dawns when we feel like we don’t need anything. Freedom is when we acknowledge the beauty of life and relax into the moment we are in. Freedom is knowing the value of the air we breathe, the house we live in, food that we have and fully enjoy them all... Freedom is in letting go of any cravings and not feeling and lack. It’s ok to have anything. But what pulls us away from our peace of mind is the need for more. Life has already given us so much... Enjoy what you have... 🌸 #yogainspiration#yogalife#yogafit#yogalove#prayer#love#connection#letscreateanewculture#embracingourvalues#healing#mindfulness#meditation#awareness#yoga#fuelyoursoul#foodforthought#desires#lettinggo
Acts of service isn’t usually a top love language of mine, but I think it’s slowly rising. It’s cheesy to say but it really is the “little things” that go a long way in a relationship. Making each other meals on a busy day, picking each other up so they don’t have to walk in the cold, listening to them talk about their day, and even being the one to go up and down the stairs when they forgot something downstairs. And doing it all willingly, with a smile, and out of love. Trey is so good at this already and has taught me so much about service and self sacrifice. I’m so grateful for him and the ways he leads me to Heaven. And friends, you can do this with any friendship! Pay attention to the little things your friend or your mom or your brother doesn’t like to or are just inconvenient, and just do it for them! You’ll see how much your friendship will grow and how appreciative they will be. Well guys, in this spirit of service, Trey + I want to serve you. “Prayer is where the journey begins and is the means by which we open ourselves to the healing and fulfillment of our lives, to our being set free from slavery to our sins. It is how we begin to participate in the new life that Christ has brought to the world. So as we continue the Nativity Fast, let us make prayer a settled habit so that our spiritual eyes will open wide to the brilliant light of the Savior when He comes to set us free at His birth. That is how Christ will loose us from our infirmities. It is how we will overcome our spiritual barrenness and instead bear fruit for the Kingdom of God.” - Fr.
