‘The Embrace’, 1931 by Gustav Klimt. Decorative patterns were often used by Gustav Klimt in his paintings. This particular painting depicts a couple embracing each other, their bodies entwined. Klimt has also used gold leaves to create background and the elaborate beautiful robes worn by the two figures. There is a great resemblance between Klimt’s two paintings, ‘The Kiss’ and ‘The Embrace’. It is now present at the Stoclet Palace in Brussels, Belgium.
