Tired of using the dumbbells,machine, and plates?  Try this 3 round metabolic and strength training circuit!! All u need is a pylo box and a sand bag( weights can be changed for every round)  Initially start with the sand bag lunges, as it targets ur glutes and hams. Then followed by burpees all the way down to the floor on both sides of the bag! Then dead bag slam( slamming the bag behind the back ,as similar to throwing a dead body). Squats on the pylo box .. Then add one more pylo box to the first one, and slam the bag again and jump over the pylo box. Followed by a hard finisher lunge-press combo. The things u should notice is pylo jumps are good to improve the strength on ur entire body. But at the same time it should never be given continuously. Same way, the jump should be perfect ,by landing on the mid toe and then heel..so that u won't hurt ur leg.. Do proper warm up and stretching before doing this activity!! Challenge yourself always....when was the last time you did? . Pregnant or not, I am still challenging myself in the gym and in life.  I don’t feel the need to get comfortable ever (also sometimes a downfall lol! #neversatisfied). At #16weekspregnant (can you see the little bump coming in 🤗) I am obviously a lot more careful than I used to be with my workouts, but I can’t say that they have changed much yet.  I am still pushing myself and challenging myself; however the goal now is to feel good and maintain some muscle mass while I build this human. . This is a workout I did yesterday morning and it only took 40 minutes! Yup, short but very effective.  I love a good slow lift session, but I also love a quick challenging metabolic circuit too! I am adding a lot of stability and balance exercises in my workouts now (good if you are preggers or not!) to keep my core and hips strong. . This is an AMRAP workout (as many rounds as possible) in this case.  Try to get through as many rounds as you can (still focusing on good form) in 40 minutes. 1. 20 calorie row 2. Single Arm TRX row x 8/arm 3. KB Deadlift x 10 4. Sandbag Reverse Lunge With Hip Drive & Press x 8/side 5. Ball Slams x 15 6. Plank Row Push Up x 8 7. 2 Plate Swings + Broad Jump x 5 8. Ball Side Plank With Rotation x 5 per side —short rest if needed then right back to the tower. . These types of workouts will really challenge both your strength and your cardiovascular fitness.  Great for building lean muscle and blasting fat!! If you really want to push yourself, give this a try.  40 minutes of hard work, head down, no phone, no talking, just get it done!!! . #amrapworkout #metabolicconditioning #thisishowicardio

Exactly WHEN and HOW should you incorporate refeed days within your training cycle and dietary regimen? ⠀ Refeed days allow us to start refreshed and stronger on a difficult training period and break the sometimes mundane repetition of eating the same foods day-in and day-out. When we fall into the typical "one size fits all" routine of the well-dedicated fitness buff, our bodies often at some point in time begin to feel the negative repercussions of doing so. Excessive muscle soreness that doesn't go away. Delayed recovery. Slowed metabolism. Mental fatigue and lack of motivation. This is the point in which is a good time to incorporate a refeed day where you simply eat close to the same types to foods as you normally would but a few hundred calories extra per meal. For example: ⠀ If you eat 2 eggs and avocado toast for your typical breakfast, a possible variation to that would be consuming an Eggs Benedict with some form of extra calories per your dietary needs. ⠀ Keep in mind that a refeed day isn't the same as a cheat meal. Think of refeed days as a healthier alternative to cheating on your diet while still getting the extra calories via nutrient-dense foods that you need to properly recover and come back into the beginning of the week stronger and more motivated than you were the previously! FULLBODY “ENDURANCE” METCON . . 4 rounds (7:30 each): . • 15 Toes to Bar • 15 Pushups • 30 Walking Lunges • 30 cals Skierg * (rest any remaining time in the interval) . Tot Time = 28:30 vs 30:00 timecap (80% work vs 20% rest) . . TOES TO BAR: totally underestimated my current capabilities ☠️☠️ ended up breaking the 15 reps in 3 mini-sets; but at least I strived to do all of them with as little swing as possible; if you’re not there yet, try the same hanging position but raising the knees towards the chest while -again- keeping minimal swing . WALKING LUNGES: started with the plates “racked” on the shoulders until failure, came back dropping the plates to the side into “farmer” hold, managing the 30 lunges uninterrupted . . . TRADITIONAL CARDIO (45-60 mins on same machine): • boring • overuse of same muscles/movement • weightloss (losing precious muscle mass also) . VS . METABOLIC CONDITIONING (20-30 mins of interval training rotating between different exercises): • fun • balanced use of the whole body (if well designed) • fatloss (preserving all the muscle mass) . . . It’s amazing how lightweight objects can really give you a tough workout. Here I’m using appropriately 15 lb Bulgarian bag. I’m doing a stationary lunge punch combo. Looks easy when you look at it but if done the right way this can really kick your butt. The lunge couple with holding an object makes it a hard stability challenge. Top that by the rotation of the bag makes it even harder to keep that balance. As one arm extends the other pulls back in opposition, kind of like when you are throwing a punch. Finally this exercise is keeping your shoulder muscles engaged the entire time. Keep in mind the weight just by holding it is light but the work demand in the muscles are at a high level.  You can do this exercise in interval rounds like 40 seconds on 20 seconds off for 8 rounds each. Be sure and switch legs.
