1️⃣In the first picture I was about 14 years old. I was overweight because I did not do any exercise and did not know I had polycystic ovaries (PCOS) - 2️⃣In the second photo was taken August 2018, I had been going to the gym for almost a year. I lifted weights but did not push myself enough. Tried several diets to try and fix my PCOS symptoms (Paleo, Vegan, Tipical "bro diet" and more) But none made me feel good. I felt sick, tired and stressed. - 3️⃣The last photo was taken after 1 month of becoming Keto, the most recommended diet for women with PCOS. I feel incredible. My mind is clearer, I have more energy, I stopped taking medicines for anxiety, sleep and insulin resistance, and I am stronger than ever. Fat Loss vs Weight Loss! . Although we CANNOT choose where we lose fat from, we can definitely manipulate our diet and training regime so that we DO lose FAT, instead of hard earned muscle. . Muscle tends to burn more calories per minute than fat, so keeping as much muscle as possible is actually BENEFICIAL to your fitness/weight loss goals. And obviously, muscle makes you STRONGER - who doesn’t want that?! . So, if you’re focusing on losing FAT but keeping muscle: 1. Swap long cardio sessions for HEAVY weightlifting sessions (with a bit of High Intensity Interval Training to maintain your Cardiovascular Fitness/Health). 2. Swap a low calorie diet for a HIGH PROTEIN diet, but still keep those veggies and complex carbs in there too. 3. Obviously, you’re still gonna need to use more energy than you’re taking in, so make sure that you still maintain a calorie deficit. . .
