Dear Friends, the last two days have been incredible. I’ve never experienced anything like it. I’m totally exhausted (pathetic I know) but I was only there for 24 hrs, there are people just like you and like me who have been there for over a week and they intend to stay for another. I traveled up with the most beautiful young student who had already been up for four days but had to return for 6 hours of her lectures. She was straight back on the next coach to rejoin the rebellion. Their clothes are absolutely sodden and they are exhausted beyond exhausted. They need dry clothes and people to stand in for a while, while they rest. This world needs us all to step up and go and help, the people there need your support. I spoke to a guy who was a doctor up until a year ago, now he feels there is nothing more he should do other than rebel. In terms of the XR organisation and the way they operate and have everything organised I couldn’t see one thing I would criticise yet. Emily the student I traveled with said she wouldn’t have been able to do it if it wasn’t for all the free food and drink available. Yes there are few of what people would call hippies and a couple of people who have obviously had a hard life but it’s their world too. They are in the absolute minority, despite what the media will have you think. The BBC’s coverage is shameful. If you agree please make a complaint on their website. People say to me ‘what XR is demanding is not achievable’ the truth is it’s a ******* big ask, and my response is what else should we do? XR is my only hope. What’s yours? . . . #smallandmightybusiness#beeswaxwraps#beeswaxwrapsuk#ecofriendly#gogreen#reuserevolution#reuserecycle#wrapwithwax#bees#beeswax#earthkind#saynotoplastic#ditchtheplastic#ecowarriors#zerowaste#plasticfree#greenhome#loveyourplanet#shoplocal#proudtobegreen#wastefree#plasticfree#conciousconsumer#lucycooperloves#climatejusticenow#extinctionrebellion
This is an illustration of Guillermo Torres published on @colombia.ilustrada “In the Amazon, nothing is adapted to fire.” 10 percent of Earth’s animal species live there. The fires in the Amazon are largely set intentionally to clear land for cattle ranching, farming, and logging.
This stunning painting is made by the talented artist @mar_arpio. Give him a follow and take a look at his other work. . In his own caption: The Marvellous Spatuletail Hummingbird (Loddigesia mirabilis) confronts the Black Hawk Eagle (Spizaetus tyrannus) to say “You have invaded my territory”.
