"If you were to go to a museum , you would see a lot of paintings of the dead people you'd see jesus on the cross and you'd see a dude getting stabbed in the neck and you'd see people dying at sea and in battle and a parade of martyrs. But not. One. Single. Cancer. Kid. Because there is no glory in illness , there is no meaning to it. There is no honour in dying of." INSIGHTFUL, BOLD , UNCOMPLICATED and EMOTIONALLY HEARTBREAKING. . This book brings out the beauty in simplicity that passes through your mind ,through your body (and through your lungs) like an electrical impulse leaving you....numb. . " a book about death and life, and the people in between that makes you laugh , cry and think" as stated by Markus Zusak. The story line was simple, yet emotional and realistic like none other. Not all love stories have a "happy ending". Very few books are written in a way that you not just read but ....feel. this book made me feel pain, pain that demands to be felt. . Cancer. One thing that made me read this book. Fight , war , not with the disease , but with oneself , the other. I would say the thoughts presented in the book were BOLD And of course BEAUTIFUL. Hazel grace Lancaster and Augustus waters together filled my mind with emotions and feelings that I've never felt before and ...I guess I'm not the only one. PS - thank you Hazel Grace for telling us , that one should be loved deeply , not widely . #thefaultinourstars#thefaultinourstarsedit#bookstagram#bookshark#keepreading#lovetoread#bibliophile#bookworm#bookclub#bookaddicts#bookaddiction#bookaholics#readingtime#johngreen#johngreenbooks#booksbooksbooks#bookstagrammer#lovetoread#sundayread#emotional
TWELVE! With nearly two and a half months left, I’m feeling pretty proud of myself. I know I have never read 12 books in a year without some kind of classes to push me to do so. Off to finish the other one I’m half through. #goalachieved#12booksin12months#keepreading#bookclub

This is a one of a kind collection. “In Love... & War” holds the work of over three dozen poets, each of whom provide a glimpse into their own experience. Like the war poems of previous generations, this anthology seeks to leave behind a better understanding of war and those who wage it. War is as varying and complex as the poems within. This is an absolute must have for the bookshelf of anyone who enjoys poetry, military history, or simply wishes to better understand War———————————————————————————#InloveandWar #poetry#poem#war#art#bookstagram#bookreview#bookworm#supportlocalart#bibliophile#pipesmoking#igtpc#art#pipesandpages#keepreading
A song on my latest album called "Wings (Amelia)" is inspired by the life of Amelia Earhart. I co-wrote the song with kindie musicians Kyler and Lalo of @frecklelandkids and you can check out their version of the song too on @Spotify!

💭 What are some of your favorite memories as an ardent reader? Do you remember the first few books that got you into reading? What are they? • • 🌼 Having a running book blogging account does have its own benefit of knowing new authors, discovering new genres, and constantly improving your tastes as a reader, but I know well before that ever happened, my taste was limited to chick flicks and detective fiction, and it still comes as a surprise how much I have evolved as a reader in just a year. • • 🌻 It has been a journey sure, but as they say, sometimes just the intent is enough and you figure out the rest, here is me sharing some of the tips that helped me along the way: 📚 Having a @goodreads account and choosing a reading challenge sets you up to the task right in the beginning. 📚 Be open to new genres, non-fiction, biographies, history, memoirs, translated -works, you name it. The sky is the limit, and you never know what you might like. 📚 Tracking your reading speed in the first few months helps you get into a pace. 📚 Reading consistently every single day sets you up for a habit. It is easy to give in and watch Netflix to 'unwind' but if you really want to build the habit, sacrifice a first few times and I bet you would thank yourself for it later. 📚 Discuss and explore new books on your own. @goodreads is a nice place to start. You can be a part of book clubs too and there is always #bookstagram to help you out. . . . . 🍂 While there are countless other ways you can truly enhance your reading tastes, its the intent that matters in the end, and you only know how delightful this whole journey of cultivating a reading habit is going to turn for you. 💭 I will add to the list as an and we go, but I would really appreciate your own stories and tips that help you! So what's your bookish story? . . . . #bookstack#ilovebooks#goodreads#epicreads#booksofinstagram#bookgeek#bookstagramista#bookstagram#bookfeaturepage
"Matter is a mirror, everything is a mirror that reflects light and creates images of that light, and the world of illusion, the dream, is just like smoke which doesn't allow us to see what we really are" - The Four Agreements #thefouragreements
𝘉𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘳𝘦𝘷𝘪𝘦𝘸: 𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘩 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘢𝘯 ♡ . . (🇬🇧) Today’s post is about my last reading, "The Way Through the Woods: on Mushrooms and Mourning". The malaysian-born author, Long Litt Woon, tells us how she dealt with the pain of losing her husband Eiolf. Bringing this book back to a single literary genre is impossible. It is a very interesting essay on mycology that manages to involve everyone. It is a hymn to the nature, its colors, its perfumes and its hidden treasures. It is also an autobiographical novel about the rebirth of a woman who suddenly found herself alone, in an empty house, without her life partner. It’s a book so rich in illustrations, recipes and anecdotes as to emotions, memories and feelings. It excites and enriches. Totally recommend it, because it’s one of those books that remain in your heart forever!
Currently loving this memoir by Philip Gwynne Jones which recounts the adventure he and his wife, Caroline, embarked on when they decided to throw up theirs lives in Edinburgh and move to Venice. It’s a great read but it is giving me itchy feet... #amreading#venice#philipgwynnejones#wanderlust
