There’s nothing better than that sense of pride you feel when your head hits the pillow at night and you know you showed up for yourself throughout the day.⁣ ⁣ That despite the stress of life, you kept the promises you made to yourself and executed on what you needed to accomplish to move you closer to your goals.⁣ ⁣ I without a doubt believe that is possible for you. And the easiest way to do so is by taking control of your morning from the minute you open your eyes.⁣ ⁣ What you do first thing sets the tone for the rest of your day. If you start your morning from a calm, grounded place, having already achieved some small wins, you are more likely to make the choices that best serve you as the day goes on.⁣ ⁣ But if you’re hitting snooze multiple times, taking care of others before yourself, and rushing to get ready so you can get out of the door on time, you will feel like a frazzled mess the rest of the day. And nothing good happens from that place.⁣ ⁣ Now you might be thinking, holy hell! 9 things!? You can’t possibly believe I have time for that! Before you dismiss this list, take a closer look. Most of these things take little to no time whatsoever.⁣ ⁣ This is the basic structure of my personal routine, and it takes 20 minutes max. (Most of which is devoted to my very extra skin care routine, lol).⁣ ⁣ I’ll break down what it looks like so you can see it doesn’t need to be overwhelming. I’m not over here making French press coffee, burning Palo Santo, and writing in my journal for an hour.⁣ ⁣ 1️⃣Alarm goes off, I pick up my phone and open my Insight timer app. I mediate for 5 minutes while doing deep breathing. ⁣ 2️⃣ Journal for 3-5 minutes. Gratitude and intention setting.  3️⃣Make my bed and tidy room. (Outer order, inner calm)⁣ 4️⃣Listen to a motivational or educational podcast as I get dressed. ⁣ 5️⃣Brush teeth and do skincare routine. ⁣ 6️⃣Drink a big glass of water.⁣

Forget about it.All you have the energy for is parking your butt on the couch.⁣ ⁣ If any of this hits home, let’s break down how you can go through your day with a little pep in your step and still have energy to spare at the end.⁣ ⁣ Don’t get wrong, I love me some coffee. In small doses, caffeine has many benefits.But there’s definitely a sweet spot.  Too much and you’ll find yourself jittery, anxious, and even foggy headed. And then comes the crash, where your energy plummets and you need for more.⁣ ⁣ If caffeine is part of your routine, totally cool, but stick to 200 mg max (about 2 cups of coffee), and cut it off before noon.While you’re at it, stay hydrated.  Keep a bottle of water on your desk and drink as much as possible.Dehydration is a common cause of low energy.⁣ ⁣ Eating well balanced meals keeps your energy stable.Have breakfast, and make your lunch a mix of protein, veggies, slow digesting carbs, and healthy fats.  If you need to snack, stick to mostly protein and fats. Sugary, processed carbs can cause major blood sugar swings.⁣ ⁣ Nothing makes me feel more frazzled or overwhelmed than a cluttered space. Clear your desk of piles of paper and unnecessary junk. Make it spark some joy by lining it with pictures and something like a small plant.⁣ ⁣ Avoid multitasking. Your brain is only good at doing one thing at a time.
