3 months post miscarriage and 3 years postpartum and I’m feeling pretty good. Strong in my body. Emotionally resilient. Handling a toddler. I shared about my miscarriage a couple months back mostly to normalize it and to share a piece of my own journey in motherhood. Having a miscarriage was emotional but also felt like it took my body away from me for 3 months and brought me back to similar feelings I had postpartum. To feel normal. To feel like myself. To be in more control. But control really is just an illusion. Control with life or even trying to control every aspect of our eating and body. One thing I always come back to is bodies are always changing. Life is always changing. We are aging every day. We have babies and lose the weight or keep some of it. We go through phases where fitness drops off and strength levels change. Hard life stuff happens. The truth is we don’t have control of some things only how we respond to them. And it doesn’t mean we can’t grieve or be frustrated or sad but in how we keeping showing up each day, the best we can, sometimes our best being strikingly different from one day to the other. Here’s to all of you who keep showing up, being brave, learning and growing through it all. When you let go of trying to control how things turn out you can start to *trust* that you WILL be able to handle whatever comes your way.
