This is Brian Brister  January-July. 110 pounds gone. An entire life gained. • The guy on the left was miserable and constantly tired. He overate and was continually bloated. He couldn't bend over to tie his shoes and had to sit down after walking up a flight of stairs. He shopped online because he couldn't find the 3x and 4x shirts he needed in local stores. He used food for every single emotion (happiness, sadness, anger, fear, boredom, celebration, distress) and never thought about the nutrition of what went into his body. • The guy on the right is happy and never bloated. He doesn't even think when bending over to tie his shoes and can run up multiple flights of stairs. He loves shopping at local stores and trying on medium and large sized shirts. He has zero addiction to food and knows everything that goes into his body. • If you don't think your life will ever change, then you're exactly where I was last year. Trust me. It can change. So I have officially made it 171 Days (basically 6 months) on my Weight Loss Journey to lose 150 pounds. I weigh in on Tuesday’s and as of last week I am down 59 pounds. These are LIFE LONG changes I am making, not a diet. I started out at 315 pounds and if I can do this and be successful I know others can too. Below is what I am doing:  I am on a calorie counting journey. I weigh, measure and log every single thing that goes in my mouth.  I use an app called Lose It!  it is free and I started out slowly lowering my calories. I know in the past I would just go from eating all the crap I was eating before to cutting to like 1500 calories and I think for myself that is too drastic and I would fail. This time I put my stats in to the lose it app and it started me at 2400 calories and as I logged weight loss it brought me down to now I am on Day 171 and I’m down to 1688 a day. I also eat as clean as I can which means no processed, packaged or frozen food. Obviously I am not perfect so I do keep some things at home for when I need something healthy but fast. Meal planning!! .  Why do I procrastinate with my meal planning? 🙈 Here’s an idea for your dinner for next week if anyone else is thinking about dinners for next week! We had it last week and probably will have it again. .  Teriyaki Chicken Stir-fry  1 1/2 tbsp coconut oil 1 pound raw chicken breast 1 dash of salt 1/4 tsp pepper 2 cloves of garlic 1/4 cup reduced sodium soy sauce 1/4 cup water 3 tbsp honey 1 tsp ginger 1 medium onion  1 medium green pepper 1 medium red pepper 1 cup broccoli  2 cups brown rice 1/4 cup sesame seeds  Heat oil and cook diced up chicken.  Season with salt and pepper Add garlic Remove from heat.  Add soy sauce, water, honey, and ginger to skillet. Bring to a boil for 3-5 min. Reduce heat. Add onion and peppers and broccoli stirring occasionally.  Add chicken until it’s coated. Eat over rice! .  So YUMMY! And it’s one of the MANY recipes you get when you join a bootcamp. 🤗
Heavy Bag: Drop Step⁣ ⁣ I prefer to be in close range we’re I can feel the body weight of my opponent. I’m feeling for the weight of my opponent (Bag) to shift to my right. Once I know his weight is on his left foot or to my right shoulder, I know I have a chance to flip my hips and get an angle. ⁣ ⁣ I typically do this in a clinch so I can use my left to throw his weight as I flip my hips. I feel his weight shift & I think about opening my right hip/foot and stepping it to my left. I push off that right foot and throw my hip open. I want my foot to move explosively about 12”. Having that right foot on the toe is crucial before the move. It allows for a plyometric movement. ⁣ ⁣ The left foot must move outside your opponents right shoulder. He will feel your weight move rapidly & try to move with you. ⁣ ⁣ I like to stay low in this movement to stay clear of the right & left protecting your head. With your momentum, drop a hook to the body to set up the right to the head. ⁣ ⁣ The right to the head can easily be turned over since your body is low. Turning it over makes it a dangerous punch. ⁣ ⁣ After completing the drop Step your feet might be squared. EVERY SINGLE DAY I talk to people who are feeling healthier and happier because they are fixing their guts. That doesn’t mean that there aren’t days when they feel some detox, or progress is slower than they like, but they all feel changes! Some feel it fast — like with the first drink! Some notice changes within the first week or two (that was me). And some notice changes so slowly that they realize it when they run out of a product or quit and then quickly re-order. But my point is, that getting your gut balanced and healthy will change your life! . Google it! Do your own research!  Anything from gas, painful bloating,and chronic constipation to more serious conditions like Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupus, cancer, diabetes, Parkinson’s, autism — you name it and there is a connection.  Don’t believe me?  Google “gut health and __________” (you fill in the blank) and you’ll find studies and articles about the connections being made. “ALL disease begins in the gut!” A.L.L.! . I’ve come to the conclusion that a healthy gut is the MOST important part of our health.  It is the CENTER of what is going on in our bodies.  Every generation is going to get sicker and sicker until we get this under control. When I talk to people I can’t believe the NUMBER of prescriptions their KIDS take every day. KIDS!  TEENAGERS! Not to mention adults. . GUT HEALTH! GET YOUR GUT HEALTHY! FIX YOUR GUT!  I don’t know how to get the message out any louder than I’m already shouting! . Fixing my gut changed my LIFE! I’m not exaggerating! DO IT!  DO IT NOW!  Stop thinking about it! Stop rolling your eyes! Stop saying later! Stop saying you can’t afford it! You can’t afford NOT to. Alright- these were no @chickfila but they were pretty darn good. And yes I did have an extra Chick-fil-A sauce saved lol 😂 . . However- I likely will not eat again after reading the ingredients nor will I be feeding them to my family.  WTF is 17% solution and why isn’t chicken the first ingredient?
