It’s my Birthday! 🥳 ⠀ ⠀ This is my 38th birthday and it’s different from others 38. It is built from a past of learning and never giving up. A continued process of growth and change both mentally and physically. Mistakes followed by lessons learned. Trusting my body but at times also feeling betrayed by it. A history of imperfections; drinking, bingeing, purging, excessive exercise, and a rest when I’m dead mentality. It comes from a past of hormonal issues that were ignored by doctors. Being told that not having a period was okay. 🤔 A past that included dating a man who told me everything about my looks needed to be surgically changed. That man made me feel worthless and weak and broke me both mentally physically. 🤦🏼♀️ That shit happened and it sucked but it taught me lessons on who I was and who I wanted to be. ⠀ •.⠀ •.⠀ I can truthfully say I’m in the best shape of my life both mentally and physically now. I have freedom, a healthy relationship with food, healthy relationship with exercise, healthy relationship with my man, regular period, and I’ve mentally and physically built myself back from that situation with that D-bag so many years ago. We all fight battles in our lives... None of these things happened over night for me and some I went backwards, had a few side steps, and eventually moved forward. Throughout everything I had patience with myself and the process ahead. I knew my journey was different from others and continues to be. I will continue to improve as I get older. Every year with the goal of being the best version of myself at that point in time.⠀ •.⠀ It might not be best to call this a goal as much as it is more a desire to strive towards a 1% better everyday. Goals seem more like something with an end point, something that you might get frustrated with if you don’t get there fast enough, something that once achieved you stop.
