Saturday night and we have just tipped over the $4,000 donation mark for effective charities tackling global poverty. Woohoo🥳🥳 Kudos to @kerrisackville and @allisontaitwriter for their insta influencer banter that has brought in a few more orders this afternoon. This is how we spread the word with no marketing budget – so a massive thank you. Keep letting your family, friends and fans (you social media gurus) know about Write the World notebooks, where $10 notebooks = $10 donation to charity. And if you haven’t ordered your own notebooks yet, check out our website (link in bio). Happy Saturday folks 😊 #thelifeyoucansave#effectivecharities#writetheworldnotebooks#spreadtheword#saturday
98% of children in Bangladesh attend primary school, but a staggering 19% drop out before they complete grade 5 (before learning to read or write) in order to work and earn an income. Despite government primary schools being free of charge, the perceived opportunity cost of remaining in school acts as a motive for students to leave school prematurely. The result? A massive literacy issue and a vicious perpetuating cycle of poverty in Bangladesh. With a vision of a literate Bangladesh 🇧🇩💡 @alteryouthrevolution has developed an online platform that enables capale and willing individuals to provide literacy scholarships to students at risk of dropping out. This "uber for scholarships" is simple in principle and profound in impact. The scholarship provider connects to the mother of the vulnerable student, and provides 12 USD/ month via transparent mobile banking, to ensure the child not only stays in school, but actualizes their potential in school in terms of attendance and performance. In addition, mothers, students, and the "user" aka scholarship provider, can engage with each other through video calls so that the user is able to see the impact of their support. During our visit, @ankhoory visited 3 village schools where we met students and mothers who are part of the programme. One mother told us that without this scholarship, her child could not consistently attend school; which held him back socially and academically. In the next few months, Alteryouth will be taking it to the next level by opening their platform for international transactions! Which means that you, me, and anyone in the world can contribute to a literate Bangladesh! ✨📝 (continued)...

Last night was a blast! We held our first Boozie Bingo for Boobies event at @fringesydney where we raised funds for the @mcgrathfoundation and participated in Pink Up Penrith. I was blown away by the support that we received from local businesses who gave raffle items as well as our bingo players who dug deep to help raise funds. We don’t have a final tally yet but we do know that it is well over $3000! A huge thank you to: - everyone who came along for some FUNdraising, - the businesses that donated, - my beautiful son Joel on guitar and the gorgeous Sian on vocals, - my wonderful husband David who is always my rock and support, - the fabulous Greg Gavin who was our Boobie Master, and - my incredibly supportive team, Ellie and Rienna who bent over backwards to make this event happen! YOU ALL ROCK!
