Here are some of our previous meetings with Crystal Palace ahead of Saturday’s Premier League match at Selhurst Park: 📅 14/4/2019 🏟 Selhurst Park (25,721), London 🏴 🏆 Premier League 🦅 Crystal Palace 1 🦈 CITY 3 ⚽️ Goals: 🏴 @sterling7 (2) ~ 🇧🇷 @dejesusoficial In last season’s final push for back to back Premier League titles, facing Crystal Palace away was one of many tough games that we played, in our bid to continue our amazing win streak. However, despite suffering a first home defeat at the hands of the Eagles back in December, which I’ll talk more about shortly, we were still overwhelming favourites for this one and we needed to win. We did exactly that in a convincing way as despite missing a big chance early on, Raheem Sterling made amends by bagging a brace. Palace gave us a scare late on but a goal from Gabriel Jesus settled the nerves and killed the game, helping us earn another huge 3 points. 📅 22/12/2018 🏟 Etihad Stadium (54,340), Manchester 🏴 🏆 Premier League 🦈 CITY 2 🦅 Crystal Palace 3 ⚽️ Goals: 🇩🇪 @ilkayguendogan ~ 🇧🇪 @kevindebruyne After suffering our 1st defeat of the season at Chelsea 2 weeks earlier, we’d bounced back with a win over Everton the week prior to this match against a side who, on paper, were considerably worse than the other 2 teams. Ilkay Gundogan gave us an early lead but 2 quick fire goals, including a sensational volley from Andros Townsend, from the visitors, gave them a shock lead going into the break. Matters were made worse for the Blues early on in the 2nd half as captain, Luka Milivojevic, dispatched a penalty to double Palace’s advantage. A late fight back, which saw Kevin de Bruyne score a freak cross goal, wasn’t enough for City as we suffered a surprise 2nd loss of the season and we’d lose again the following week, which stacked the odds against us for winning the title.
