Interactive activities including a virtual reality cinema, live music, a P-22 photo booth, kids’ art activities, a rock-climbing wall, and much more. This *free!* event features over a hundred exhibitors on urban wildlife, including a learning center on coexisting with wildlife from the Mountain Lion Foundation, and a pavilion where people can meet the National Park Service biologists who study P-22 and other animals. ⏰ 11am-4pm at Crystal Springs in Griffith Park!
💗 Did You Know?? . My family raises broiler chickens.🐓 . All these chickens are raised under roof, by my family, without steroids, hormones, or antibiotics. . It’s against federal regulation to treat poultry raised for consumption with any steroid, hormone, or antibiotic for growth regulation purposes. . Hormones and steroids are the biggest myth in the broiler industry. But how can these birds grow so big, so fast? It’s just their breed. It’s the way their natural body grows. . These birds are well taken care of in a climate controlled environment where the temps and conditions are always at the birds’ comfort level. 24/7 access to locally produced feed and the cleanest water. . During the dead of winter these birds are kept toasty warm while ice is hangin off the eves. And they’re kept cool as a cucumber during the heat of summer while we’re sweating buckets. . Not to mention completely protected from hawks, eagles, raccoons, cats, coyotes, dogs, rats, or any other chicken hungry predator. . So what’s the big deal? . I teach undergrads during term time, and sometimes the way timetabling works out I don’t really have a good opportunity to get lunch (sad reacts only). By the time I’d finished teaching at 4pm today I was STARVING and craving something warm and hearty - luckily ShiJo is just over the road from campus and does a really nice bowl of chicken katsu curry for £5.50! Plus some takoyaki on the side, I’m in a much better mood now I’ve been fed 😅
