Love’s Relentless Pursuit I tried to outrun Your love, hide from all that You created me to be. Just like Adam and Eve, You told me to come out of hiding. You remind me of the cross, that I no longer have to live in shame. And for every tainted memory I have in my past, You give me new memories. You are the truth when I’m surrounded by lies. You are the peace when I’m in confusion. You are the grace that I don’t deserve. You are the rain in the drought of my soul. You are the ember of fire in the dark. I’ve sought after what the world offers, and it has only left me emptier. But even just one drop of You, can satisfy my hunger. Nothing else will simply do, You are enough for me. You saw past my scars and loved my second hand heart. You calm the chaos of my waves, and pull me into the stillness of Your shore. You say to me, “give Me your flaws and imperfections, I’ll take you as you are. Take My hand, I promise to keep you safe.” Just like a stained glass window, Your love radiates through my broken pieces and mends it together because You always turn brokenness into beauty. You are always there when I need You and even in the mystery, You are constant. You continually to pursue after my heart. And no matter where I end up, You always meet me where I am. Like the Prodigal Son, no matter how far I run, You welcome me back home and prepare a feast for me. You are my First Love. I can’t outrun Your love, because I will end up running back to You. — Written by me.
