soooo as you might have seen in my story - today i had the best workout i've had in a bit. 🥳 and i give all the credit to the 4 rest days! i felt mentally and physically rested, easily could increase any weight that previously seemed impossible! got into the big boi DBs in shoulder press as well! ready to kill it again 🙃 definitely will implement this into my routine and once ever 2 months have 4/5 consecutive days of no lifts. it has given me such a boost, couldn't recommend it enough. if you've been giving your all at the gym 5x a week for weeeeeks, your body will thank you! back in the game nooow🙃

Do you have a cheat meal on Friday? ➖ 34% of adults & 15–20% of children/adolescents in the U.S ALONE (not worldwide) are obese (Mitchell et al 2011) with rates expected to double for adults and triple for children in the coming years & the one & only reason behind it is due to a severe imbalance between energy intake & expenditure (Hill et al 2012) ie. people are just eating far too much and/or moving far too little & unfortunately these days, it’s just too easy to get fat ➖ Today I was speaking to a friend in the gym & we touched upon the “ratio” of kcals in food to energy expenditure & how absurd it is (I find it quite interesting tbh). For example, a BASIC Papa John’s large pizza, based off their calculator contains ~2600kcal & can be eaten in anywhere from 10-20mins as a “cheat meal” but do you ever think about just how long it would then take to BURN those same 2600kcal? Definitely not 10-20mins. In fact, taking an avg. 175lb male burning ~800kcal/hr of jogging (~6-7mph), to burn that 1 pizza he’d have to jog for >3hrs, a ratio of 10:195mins ➖ More perspective, my 600rep lunge workout burned ~1000kcal (check my story) so that pizza = nearly 2000reps of lunges lol & a prime example of why people can easily end up in a severe surplus & get very overweight without noticing ➖ Think about some petite females, that 1 pizza is close to 2x their DAILY requirements yet it’s not uncommon for one to have one just for DINNER yet alone inc. breakfast, snacks, lunch & alcohol (if going partying). Now you know how much I am an advocate of IIFYM & eating your pizza every now and then & the point of this post isn’t to “scare” you BUT to instead give you some perspective in order to make you a little more mindful about kcal density & energy intake. If you can’t lose weight you are simply eating too much and/or doing too little & oftentimes if you THINK you are eating X amount of kcals you are likely actually eating far more (Asbeck et al
January 2nd of this year I hit 315 for a 1 rep PR... it’s December 6th the same year and my new PR is now 475. Immediately after this I hit 405 for 6 which is another PR. My goal before the end of the year is to deadlift 500 (i would love to hit it before I turn 19, but that only gives me till Christmas Day so it’ll be tough 😂) I wasn’t bullshitting when I said this year growth would be made. Issaaa Woooooty Wednesday babbyy🤪 I know it’s been a while since I’ve done a wooty Wednesday, but my feed’s gonna become a whole lot of it. I’m already starting to feel a little fluffy in the tummy area, but I’m ready for it. I am fully dedicated to THICMAS this season & all the gains that will come with it 💪🏼 I plan to bulk throughout the month of December, January & part of February, just in time to lean out a little bit before spring break! I’ve never gone through a bulk before, so I’m really excited to see how this journey will play out. As for personal goals, I don’t really intend to build my upper body a whole lot. 🔥How to burn fat without losing muscle🔥 . 💪🏻Unfortunately, people lose muscle during the weight loss process all the time, as muscle is another backup fuel source your body can burn for energy like it does with body fat. . 🤔Ok well now you’re contradicting yourself Nick! . 🍗In order to prevent the loss of muscle mass, here is 4 steps to take to ensure that you maintain the lean muscle tissue. . 🏋🏼‍♂️Lift heavy enough to maintain or increase your strength. You must lift heavy to build muscle, and you continue to lift heavy if you want to actually maintain that muscle . 🥩Eat your protein!!! Anywhere between 0.8-1.3g of protein per pound of your current body weight is an adequate amount! . 🏃‍♀️Do NOT, I repeat, DO NOT overdo cardio! Cardio isn't a bad thing, and it can be a useful fat loss tool.
