Sprinkle with crumbled nori (even better if you can find the wasabi flavored kind!) and even more sesame seeds. Serve with a splash of tamari. Enjoy 😉
Fruit Cereal! Chopped opal apples & bananas, chia seeds, and homemade pumpkin seed mylk. This meal is both comforting and nourishing. I feel the comfort comes from my childhood of breakfasts cereals. I used to love fruity pebbles, lucky charms, Frosted Flakes, you name it! It’s unfortunate that those foods are so heavily marketed to children. These kid cereals typically contain added sugars, high-fructose corn syrup, and food dyes. Children are getting hooked on eating patterns before they are even able to make the decision for themselves. I believe that has affected our eating pattern as adults. We think we consciously are making food decisions but more often than not we are acting on habit. Then taking our emotional ties and acquired tastes, it becomes difficult for us to change our diets. Even when we know our food choices aren’t serving our best health, we’ll create a cognitive dissonance around it. Creating a healthful eating pattern only takes effort in the beginning, but once you create the new habit, you know longer have to think about it, just like your current eating style.
Smoked carrot lox on an everything gf bagel from local @thisisalkeme 🥕✨ I made a version of this on crostinis last week for an appetizer but on this bagel for a meal is next level👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼 @thisisalkeme everything bagel (find locally or order right to your door by emailing them!) + cashew cream cheeze (soaked cashews, lemon, water, extra-virgin olive oil, plain coconut yogurt, salt - blended) or try @spreadem_kitchen chive & garlic cashew spread if you don’t have time to make your own + smoked carrot (thin sliced carrot, marinated in extra virgin olive oil, liquid smoked, pure maple syrup, salt, then quickly baked in oven) + pickled red onion + capers + fresh dill🌿
Morning Routine: 1. Skip the snooze, jump up and make your bed! Its the first task of the day and will make you feel a sense of accomplishment early on and pave the way for other tasks to be completed; plus it’s nice to come home to a neat bed - Admiral William McRaven. 2. Wash your face with a gentle cleanser and brush your teeth to kills germs and makes you feel refreshed; can’t be talking to your patients and coworkers with morning breath 🥴🤢 not cool. 3. Don’t check your phone for an hour if you can; emails, social media and text messages usually can wait! 4. Make an organic protein shake to hold you over and/or have a light, healthy breakfast to give you some energy for the day. I love blueberries, strawberries, egg whites, and steamed spinach, with a half a (gutted) toasted bagel with a cup of coffee with almond milk. What about you guys? 5. Get ready to tackle your day! Map it out with times and write down a small goal. You can no doubt be a little better today than you were yesterday. 6. Schedule your personal time as well as your exercise! It’s the most potent and underutilized anti-depressant. 7. Eat regular, healthy nutrient rich meals and stay hydrated. Our mood and internal energy is reflected by what we put into our bodies and the external energy we allow into our lives. That’s it for now! Working nights this week in the hospital. My breakfast game doesn’t change on vacations much. 🌞 I always find a way to make them. Luckily on our vacation we have a little kitchen and stove. Made this bowl of oats topped with strawberries, cacao nibs, pepitas, and puffed millet. Now off to the parks for some adventure! 🙌🏽🙌🏽 . Cardamom Oats 1/2 cup rolled oats 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk Sliced up banana Pinch of salt Pinch of cinnamon Pinch of cardamom . Add ingredients to a sauce pan and bring to a simmer. Allow to cook and thicken for at least 5 minutes. Serve and enjoy. Basic but useful for something quick.

Recipe👇 1.5 cup plain flour 1 tbsp coconut sugar 2 tbsp oil, plus more for cooking 1 tsp vanilla 1.5 cups dairy free milk . 1/2 cup cashew cream 1 cup blackberries 1 tsp chia seeds 1/4 cup water . Add flour and sugar to a bowl and mix with a whisk to break up any lumps. Pour in the oil, vanilla and milk and mix until smooth. The mixture should be fairly thick, but run easily off a spoon, add a tbsp or two more milk if you need to. Heat up a non stick frying pan to a medium heat, brush over a little oil, then pour in a ladle of batter, quickly moving the pan to spread evenly on the bottom. Cook until the edges start to curl and bubbles form, about 45 seconds per side. Flip and repeat. Keep warm under a clean tea towel or in a low oven until ready to serve. Serve with blackberry chia jam, cashew cream and fresh blackberries! Enjoy 😉
