"⁣ -"How do I balance work, kids, time for my significant other, and, heck; what about time for me?"⁣ -"I want to have more time for art, the sport I love, reading, exercise, SLEEP, cooking, time with my kids, spouse, and the list goes on and on."⁣ These are the things I have heard over the years and where I struggle. Let me tell you there is no particular recipe for this "secret of life." But I have learned a few things along the way.⁣ ————————————————————————-⁣ •Check-in with yourself every morning and throughout the day to see what you need⁣ •Allow blank space in your schedule to meditate, unplug, and relax⁣ •Schedule time for you and keep that appointment with yourself⁣ •Minimize what you commit to so you don't overschedule yourself⁣ •It is ok to say "NO," in that, it is a complete sentence⁣ •Know when you need to ask for help and that it is ok to do so⁣ •Learn to delegate when necessary ⁣ •Find a tribe that loves and supports you, but also helps you to become a better version of yourself⁣ •Take time out of your "busy" schedule

I know it's fun to try out the new PR's and one rep maxes, but before you do that, PLEASE ask your coach if that's ok because there are times when it's not.⁠ ❗ ⁠ ⚠️Doing 1RM's whenever you want, can screw up the whole periodization plan your coach planned to you. That means more work to your coach and probably not so great progress to you.⁠📉 ⁠ ⚠️Doing 1RM's can also screw up the peaking phase your coach did to you, if you are getting ready to compete. ⁠ For example, peaking powerlifting programs are designed to help "peak" an athlete's one rep max (1RM) in preparation for a powerlifting meet. ⁠ ⁠ Your coach is also testing how different peaking styles works for you, so please stick with the plan because otherwise, your coach won't know how to make the best peaking programs for you! 🙏⁠ ⁠ Your coach knows that you want to succeed with your 1RM's so we can tell you WHEN is the best time to try that out.⁠ ⁠ We can definitely do things outside of your training program, but we need to operate this all as a team.
