One of my favourite things about running is the people you get to know, their ambitions and why they are racing. Running has given me many things but the greatest gift has been the people it has brought into my life 😊🏃🏻‍♀️ . . . #friendswhoruntogetherhavefuntogether #royalparkshalf #runningismytherapy #shebelievedshecouldsoshedid #strongmind #strongertogether 💪 #juststrongteam #juststrongwomen #juststrong #wewhorun #girlswhorun #halfmarathon #runnersofinstagram #runnergirl #thisgirlcan #seeingresults #garminfitness #runatyourownpace #tryingtobefitandhealthy #runningmotivation❤️ #happyrunnergirl🌻 #strava #stravarunners #stravagirl #findyourstrong💪 #fordyruns #dosomethingawesome #alzheimersresearchuk

A brain affected by Alzheimer’s can weigh around 140g less than a healthy brain – about the weight of an orange. Help our friends @alzheimersresearchuk change the conversation around dementia. If you're signed up to our two sportives - Cycle Down Dementia Norfolk and Cycle Down Dementia Southeast you're already doing your bit to #sharetheorange. Thank you! Fancy coming along too? Bookings are still open for both these events. . . . #alzheimers #alzheimersresearchuk #dementia #samuelljackson #ridemoreexplore #ukcyclingevents #pedalbikelife #velolife #stravabike #cyclinglegs #cyclingisfun #insearchofup #cyclingkits #gozwift #whyiride #pedalpower #roadbikelife #cyclingtips #zwift #rideforlife #bikefam #roadie #bikeshop #stravaphoto #wymtm

Omma getting a chest x-ray for a productive cough. She also visited a neurologist because of hand tremors, stiffness, and shuffling gait. We were really worried that she might have Parkinson's. But she handled the appointment like a boss. 🏆 🎉😎 . . Thankfully, the doctor doesn't believe Omma has idiopathic Parkinson's, but noted that it's more likely that certain medications (like a particular one she's been on) may mimic Parkinson's symptoms because they block dopamine. So Omma will discontinue this medication and we'll have a follow up in a couple months with neurology to see if her symptoms have dissipated. . . . #vasculardementia #alzheimersociety #endalz #endalzheimers #dementiafriendly #dementiasupport #dementiaawareness #dementiaresearch #alzheimersresearchuk #alzsucks #alzheimer #alzheimersawareness #dementiacare #alzheimersdisease #caregivers #agingparents #koreanmothers #asianmoms #pocwithdementia #dementiadiaries #dementiastories #seniors
There are survivors of Alzheimer’s and medical doctors that are trained in preventing and reversing cognitive decline! Learn about survivors and their successful treatment. ♥️ 💕Thanks to Neuroscientist Dr. Dale Bredesen there are survivors of Alzheimer’s and he has trained over 1,000 doctors in his Protocol. 💕My father died before there were Bredesen trained doctors. Now I spread the word about survivors of Alzheimer’s. Learn on my website with a collection of over 60 videos of lectures and interviews with neuroscientist Dr. Bredesen, Alzheimer’s Survivors, medical doctors, and professionals that support the Bredesen ReCODE Protocol to reverse Alzheimer’s. These videos are meant to educate others about the Prevention and Reversal of Cognitive Decline / Alzheimer’s. My dream is to reach the millions that have not heard that Alzheimer’s Has Been Reversed! It is cruel that so many are dying without knowing there are survivors. ❤️. **Together we CAN STOP the Alzheimer’s Epidemic. Not only have the three of us got into cycling, but Luke’s dad (Colin’s son) has got himself a bike from @elmy_cycles too and is riding regularly. It’s great to have a training partner as it provides extra motivation and you can share the workload while riding. Dave is also helping to spread the word of our fundraising journey and helping raise awareness of #alzheimersdisease. He’ll be joining us on some sportives in the new year and, although he’s not joining us in the Pyrenees next year, he will be joining in for future fundraising efforts! Let’s beat dementia together. A new pace and thinking in the search for a treatment or cure.
Dementia is an umbrella term used to describe a number of different disorders that affect the brain, particularly memory, behaviour, thinking and emotion. Alzheimer's disease is the most common form of dementia. Other causes include vascular disease, dementia with Lewy bodies and fronto-temporal dementia. Dementia symptoms include difficulty recalling recent events, concentrating and following conversation. Dementia is incurable but research into a cure is ongoing. Mixed dementia is possible, for example some people have Alzheimer's disease as well as Vascular disease. Dementia can affect anyone, anywhere - regardless of race or socio-economic background. One in three people over the age of 65 will develop dementia but people as young as 40 have been diagnosed. Two-thirds of dementia victims are women, this could be due to the lack of oestrogen after the menopause. People in the developed world see more cases of dementia. However, this is because people live longer than those in poorer countries. Family members and close friends are often affected by the progress of a loved one's dementia due to little help and lack of understanding. Call the Alzheimer's Society National Dementia Helpline on 0300 222 1122. Visit www.alzheimers.org.uk  for more information, advice and support in your local area. #dementia #alzheimers #alzheimer #alzheimersawareness #dementiaawareness #alzheimersassociation #elderlycare #homecare #dementiacare #endalz #alzheimersresearchuk #alzheimersfaces #caregiver #stroke #caregiving #walktoendalzheimers #dementiauk #endalzheimers #seniorcare #inspiration #bredesenprotocol #alzheimershasbeenreversed #dementiaprevention #lisagenova #dementiaaustralia #stillalicemovie #drbredesen #earlyonsetalzheimers #washwestmoreland #bhfyp
